INTRODUCTION:

(Deuteronomy 4:2 [KJV])
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

(Proverbs 30:5, 6 [KJV])
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

(Isaiah 28:10 [KJV])
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

(Isaiah 28:13 [KJV])
But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

(2 Peter 1:20 [KJV])
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

All of the studies found here, whether book studies or topical studies, are done with research with mainly two things: The KING JAMES BIBLE and a plain old, 1828 Webster's Dictionary. Why? Outside of actually studying secular and Jewish history recorded in the Word of God and in any ancient records from many, which records support it, plus archaeology, one needs nothing more. You do not need foreign, dead languages that no one speaks, nor lexicons, nor concordances, nor commentaries, because they differ not only with one another and with the KING JAMES BIBLE, they create division, confusion, debate, and unbelief, apostasy, and a falling away from God Himself. We do not need them. That Word of God, written and preserved for us in our own language, is supposed to be enough, like the Old Testament was for the Jews, and as the New Testament was for the early Christians in Greek, Latin, Italian, Spanish, German, etc.

There are studies within as tangents on words, subjects found within the two testaments, as to broaden the scope of the study, to learn more, deeper truths. This is not an intellectual site with PhDs, theologians, and no worldly wisdom.. Check everything out, everything. Not just here, but with everything you read and see and hear. Be Bereans:

(Acts 17:11 [KJV])
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

(1 Thessalonians 2:13 [KJV])
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Always research for yourself, use all of the context, and never privately interpret!

Introduction/Start of study

HEBREWS CHAPTER 6: THE NEW, MATURE MAN: WHAT WE WILL DO NOW

(2 Corinthians 5:17 [KJV])
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

One thing for certain, the verses in the introduction are there for this chapter and the whole of Scripture, because a context is needed always to determine truth and avoid error (heresy). Failing that, people abuse, wrest these verses and privately interpret them as stand alones, with others, to make the false claim that one can get saved and lose their salvation. THis is easy to do for any novice, of any age, who does not actual study in faith, but has an a priori argument from their denomination, reading Christian and "Christian" books by heretics, or they get their doctrines from famous people on radio or tell-a-vision. What they fail to do is use the context which gives the proper teaching of the verses. At first, it can be innocent. Later, it is ingrained, intentional and stems from arrogance and intellectual pride, having an unteachable spirit, often because, Well, I have this degree from this seminary, so who are YOU to correct ME?" Utter wickedness, evil. I always say, "If you want to teach, you must have both the Holy Spirit and a teachable spirit". Also, we must be open to correction, but only from the Word of God, not from the words of men (sadly, even women in America), famous or not. No, these verses, in their context of this chapter, this book, and the rest of Scripture, can not teach one can lose their salvation, because God IS. Jesus is THE I AM, from Whose Hand no one can pluck themselves, nor His Father's Hand. The Word of God teaches cover to cover, from Adam to Noah to Israel to the Gentiles to you and to me, grace through faith, else no one could be saved, nor ever would be!

(Hebrews 6:1 [KJV])
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

(Hebrews 6:2-3 [KJV])
Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit.

(Hebrews 6:4 [KJV])
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

(Matthew 10:14 [KJV])
And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

(Matthew 10:15 [KJV])
Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

(Luke 9:5 [KJV])
And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

  1. If they were saved, then they were once enlightened by the Word of God
  2. If they were saved, then they once tasted of the heavenly gift. They did not eat at the table, just walked by and dipped their finger in and proceeded on
  3. If they were saved, then they were once readers of maybe the Gospel of John chapter three, then read not much more, get their doctrines from other men (or women), not from God
  4. If they were saved, then they understand God's miracles, perhaps attended a Pentecostal Church, where they confuse and abuse sign gifts, no longer valid, since they were superseded, because we now we have the full Word of God
  5. It is impossible for these apostates to repent, because they do not want to. They are arrogant know-it-alls who know little, claim to know everything, not used much of God
  6. If they are unsaved, they are like Judas, who spent three whole yearswith Jesus as the otehr apostles, yet was not, and betrayed Him, for money
  7. The difference is the believing in Jesus. Same exposure to truth, seeing all things others saw, never getting saved, faking it and feigning, until death

THE JUDAS EFFECT: DO NOT BE ONE!

THE PROPHECY

(Psalms 41:9 [KJV])
Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

(Zechariah 11:12 [KJV])
And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

(Psalms 69:25 [KJV])
Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.

(Psalms 109:8-11 [KJV])
Let his days be few; and let another take his office. Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow. Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places. Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.

(Acts 1:20 [KJV])
For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

THE CALLING

(Matthew 10:4 [KJV])
Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

(Mark 3:19 [KJV])
And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.

(Mark 14:10 [KJV])
And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.

THE BETRAYAL

(Mark 14:11 [KJV])
And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

(Mark 14:12 [KJV])
And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?

(Matthew 26:14-16 [KJV])
Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

THE END

(Matthew 27:5 [KJV])
And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

(Acts 1:18 [KJV])
Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

(Hebrews 6:7 [KJV])
For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

(Ephesians 5:26 [KJV])
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

(Titus 3:5 [KJV])
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

(Jude 1:12 [KJV])
These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

(Hebrews 6:8 [KJV])
But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

(Hebrews 6:9 [KJV])
But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

PERSUA'DED, pp. Influenced or drawn to an opinion or determination by argument, advice or reasons suggested; convinced; induced.

(Hebrews 6:10 [KJV])
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

(Hebrews 6:13-15 [KJV])
For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

(Romans 4:20-22 [KJV])
He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;(Romans 4:21 [KJV])
And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

(Hebrews 6:16-17 [KJV])
For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

(Hebrews 6:18 [KJV])
That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

IMMU'TABLE, a. [L.immutabilis; in and mutabilis.] invariable; unalterable; not capable or susceptible of change.
That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation. Heb 6.

OUR GOD WHO CANNOT LIE, CHANGE

(Numbers 23:19 [KJV])
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

(Mark 15:38 [KJV])

And thou shalt set the table without the vail, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side. And thou shalt make an hanging for the door of the tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework.

(Exodus 27:20-21 [KJV])
And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always. And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.

(Hebrews 6:20 [KJV])
Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
