All of the studies, book or topical, found here, are done with research with mainly two things: The KING JAMES BIBLE and a plain old, 1828 Webster's Dictionary. Why? Outside of actually studying secular and Jewish history, archaeology, one needs nothing more. You do not need foreign, dead languages that no one speaks, lexicons, concordances or commentaries, because they differ not only with one another and with the KING JAMES BIBLE, but they create division, confusion, debate, and unbelief. We do not need them. That Word of God written and preserved for us in our own language is supposed to be enough, like the Old Testament was for the Jews, and the New Testament for the early Christians in Greek, Latin, Italian, Spanish, German, etc. There are studies within as tangents on words, subjects found within the two testaments, as to broaden the scope of the study, to learn more, deeper truths. This is not an intellectual site with PhDs, theologians, and no worldly wisdom.. Check everything out, everything. Not just here, but with everything you read and see and hear. Be Bereans:

(Matthew 1:21 [KJV])
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Not YESUS, not Yeshua, Not Yahweh, not Yehovah.

Legalism is alive and well in the Church today, as much as it was in the first century, if not more. One of the up and coming movements of this is the "Hebrew Roots Movement", where Christians are told that we are to obey Old Testament laws, and Moses in particular, along with, at times, rabbinical laws which are actually outside of Scripture. The movement claims upwards of a half million followers worldwide, and is growing. The adherents insist on us as Christians doing such things as:

One thing they do not insist on the adherents keeping is going to the Jewish temple and doing the old Testament sacrifices....precisely because there is no temple in Jerusalem, so that is impossible. Another thing they talk mostly about is the Ten Commandments, and yet they forgot that, to keep the entire law, one must obey the other 613 laws of Moses!

Much of their customs, practices, beliefs and doctrines do not even come from the first century Scriptures at all, but rather both the Old Testament Law and fifth to sixth century writings. Every time people in error use the Scriptures, it is verses out of context.

It must be remembered that the entire New Testament speaks, as a whole, AGAINST keeping the Law. It must also be remembered that the entire book of Romans speaks, as a whole, AGAINST keeping the Law. In addition, it must be remembered that the entire book of Hebrews speaks, as a whole, AGAINST keeping the Law. Lastly, it must be remembered that the entire fifteenth chapter of Acts speaks, as a whole, AGAINST keeping the Law. That is a lot of weight of evidence! In fact, in their context, even the verses in the New Testament which speak in any way of keeping the Law are really showing and teaching us that keeping the Law is for man, for outward appearance and not for satisfying God's Holiness, His Holy Justice.

Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

SLEIGHT OF HAND "THEOLOGY"

THE NAME OF JESUS IS JESUS

That JESUS is with a J, not a Y, and the people who changed it replaced it with something that is not Jesus. JOSHUA is Jesus, Yeshua is not Jesus, YAHWEH is not Jesus.

THE "NEW LIVING TRANSLATION"

Not actually a translation, this imposter changes the name of the LORD to Yahweh

    Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the Lord will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”

The Keeping of the Dietary Laws

(Acts 11:5-10)
I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me: Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat. But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.
But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.

IT IS JHVH, NOT YHWH!

SO WHO IS YAHWEH?

There has been a very organized and consorted effort, a war waged by Bible correctors (Publishers) for the past 140 years to hide the name Jehovah from us, and switch it out to the tribal god of the Canaanites "Yahweh" instead. So who is Yahweh, then? Another group of "Torah Observant Sabbath Keepers" (their name) are members of the "Hebrew Roots Movement"

The origin of the movement is not Jewish, it is merely a return to Judaism, a return to the Law which never saved anyone. (Acts 7:44,45 [KJV])
Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen. Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;

Jesus is speaking about Joshua, in the Old Testament, with the Name translated into English. That English word is Jesus. To be consistent in translating, as was just said, else the book John would be "the book of Yon". The book of James would be "the book of Yames". We do not have "the book of Yob", "the book of Yonah", "the book of Yeremiah", the book of Yechariah", "the book of Yoel", "the book of Yude", names like "Yezebel", "Yerusalem", "Yacob", "Yehoiakim". The fact is that a direct translation into English is to change the "Y" to a "J". In other words, the Hebrew word for Jesus is Joshua, not "Yeshua".

"Gentiles? That tabernacle was brought in by those who came with Jesus, that is, Joshua. And I think, for distinction sake, and to prevent mistakes, it ought to be so read, both Acts 7:45; Heb 4:8. Yet in naming Joshua here, which in Greek is Jesus, there may be a tacit intimation that as the Old-Testament Joshua brought in that typical tabernacle, so the New-Testament Joshua should bring in the true tabernacle into the possession of the Gentiles"

THE SABBATH KEEPERS: REFUTED

Does a single "Hebrew Roots" Movement congregation kill anyone for violating the Sabbath? How many were killed for this violation? How about Jews today in Israel, America, any other places?

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them. But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses. And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.

This is perfectly identical to the "Hebrew Roots Movement". This commandment to circumcise was rejected by the council! Read chapter fifteen in its entirety.

Why Sunday, and not the Sabbath?

Exodus 20:1-2, 8-11: The Sabbath Rest

And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage...........

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Commonly called the Ten Commandments, keeping the Sabbath day and rest was important to God for the Jews, who were to be different than the heathen nations around them. They were also given the sacrament of circumcision, and precious promises of land, and a promise of the Messiah to save them from their sins. That promise begins in Genesis three at the Fall of Adam and Eve

The Sabbath is referred to some 147 times in the Bible, ninety two times in the Old Testament, and fifty five in the New Testament, in all four Gospels, and in every single instance, there is the Jewish overtone, Jewish culture, Jewish location. Even the land was to be given a Sabbath rest by the Jews and, when they did not, God gave it rest by putting them into bondage for 490 years (seven times seventy).

THE SABBATH IN THE NEW TESTAMENT

Because legalism goes against Grace, because the false (heretical) teaching of "keeping the Sabbath” is clearly indefensible and against the Scriptures for any Christian, plus the fact that we are not in any way, shape or form the Jews, and do not get one bit (iota, actually) of our doctrine of the Sabbath for the Church from either testament (again, we are not Israel) and, because the Sabbath was not ever for Gentiles anyways, and certainly not for the Church and, because the Sabbath was not made for man, and most certainly not made for us as, we again, are not Israel, therefore:

We, as the Church, are not to keep the Sabbath in any way, as Jesus Himself did not!

  The Bible clearly states, cover to cover, in every instance of the Sabbath references, that the Sabbath was for the Jews alone, that the LORD'S day today is Sunday (first day of the week) for the Church, and that Jesus Himself is our only Sabbath Rest.

First off, there is zero Scriptural support of the Sabbath-keeping position; therefore there is no obligation to show Scriptures to defeat the idea that Christians are to keep the Sabbath. That burden lies on the shoulders of the Sabbath keeping Christian who tries to tell us we need to keep the Sabbath, with Scriptural support from either testament, for the Church-ESPECIALLY THE NEW TESTAMENT!

But I will include many, many verses, in their proper context, un-interpreted privately, letting them speak for themselves, anyways. Hopefully some Sabbath Keeper will read this and repent.

As you read this, please try to prayerfully search the Scriptures like a Berean and locate scriptures supporting the Sabbath for the Church today. The question is asked of Christians who do not keep the Sabbath, "Why not the Sabbath?"

The Bible itself replies to that legalistic inquisitor, "Why not Sunday?"

If the Sabbath were for the church, the body of Christ, the Bride at His Coming, it should be very easy and fast to find a ton of verses in the Scriptures supporting the Sabbath Keeper's hypothesis, which is thus:

  My Scriptures are below, and presented with the context because I thought it necessary to expose the lies of the Sabbath Keepers

I was challenged on Sunday being "the LORD's Day": “Please present scriptures supporting it.”

For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

One needs merely to study the Bible for themselves. It shows clearly where Jesus abolished the Sturday Sabbath for all in Him and stated precisely so (He said so when his disciples broke it!), completely by becoming our Sabbath rest. The burden is never on a Christian to show that the Sabbath is not for the Church, it is on the Sabbath Keeper to show that it is for the Church.....

  There exists not one verse which a person who searches diligently as possible can find and supply, in context, in defense of the keeping of the Sabbath for the Church, nor can one refute not keeping it, using the same Scriptures, rightly dividing the Word of Truth, in its context, line upon line, precept upon precept, which clearly show us "Sabbath keeping" is not for the church:

Why did they hold their peace, unlike modern Seventh Day Adventists? Because Jesus did not Himself keep the Sabbath, and abolished it, becoming it, and they could not refute Him.

Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

Rulers, because “they knew Him not”… Seventh Day Adventists know Him not……..and are lost.

According to Seventh Day Adventists, God is incapable of making any “new covenants “ without their permission.

In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

If you are a Seventh Day Adventist, you live under the OLD COVENTANT, which was made with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, not the Church at all, at any time. Show me a verse where N.T. Gentile Christians (or Messianic Jews, for that matter) were instructed by Jesus or any N.T. writer to actually continue to follow the Jewish-given Sabbath.

1 Corinthians 10:11-12
Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

The Old Testament accounts are for us to learn by, take heed of, not to be legalistic and miss the mark, not to miss the Cross, concentrating on Jesus and not ourselves and outward appearance in “keeping the law”, knowing it Did the Jews no good in trying to keep it-ever.

The “rest” taken or forsaken, spoken of in Hebrews, is two things:

This is our salvation-acceptance, grace through faith, belief

And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

HEBREWS CHAPTER 4:

Hebrews 4:1
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. The context of this verse (chapter 3 and the verses after this, show what that rest of God really, truly, actually is, and it is not a day-ever

 

Hebrews 4:2
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. Hebrews 4:3
For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Hebrews 4:4
For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. Hebrews 4:5
And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Hebrews 4:6
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

Back to the real rest, being belief, not a day.

 

Hebrews 4:7
Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

 

This day spoken of is the day to listen to God, hear His voice, harden not the heart, get saved, which for us is always today

 

Hebrews 4:8
For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. Hebrews 4:9
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Again, this rest is not a day, but a person, Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 4:10
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. James 2:10
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Hebrews 4:11
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Again, our work is to walk by faith (enter that rest), having believed

 

SO FAR, NO MENTION OF CHRISTIANS KEEPING THE SABBATH

 

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

That written book is able to slay anyone God wants it to, especially those who reject faith and go for the Law to live by, such as Sabbath Keepers

Hebrews 4:13
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

That same law one day will judge us otherwise also

Hebrews 4:14-15
Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Jesus Christ, our High Priest, God Himself, understands our dilemma, our struggle with flesh and spirit, law and grace, belief and unbelief, having walked this earth as a man

Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Let us abandon the law keepers, and walk by faith in the new covenant God made with the Church, not the Old Testament Law given to the Jews.

WORKS SALVATION: KEEPING THE LAW

(Romans 10:4 [KJV])
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

(Galatians 2:16 [KJV])
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
