INTRODUCTION:

(Deuteronomy 4:2 [KJV])
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

(Proverbs 30:5, 6 [KJV])
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

(Isaiah 28:10 [KJV])
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

(Isaiah 28:13 [KJV])
But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

(2 Peter 1:20 [KJV])
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

All of the studies found here, whether book studies or topical studies, are done with research with mainly two things: The KING JAMES BIBLE and a plain old, 1828 Webster's Dictionary. Why? Outside of actually studying secular and Jewish history recorded in the Word of God and in any ancient records from many, which records support it, plus archaeology, one needs nothing more. You do not need foreign, dead languages that no one speaks, nor lexicons, nor concordances, nor commentaries, because they differ not only with one another and with the KING JAMES BIBLE, they create division, confusion, debate, and unbelief, apostasy, and a falling away from God Himself. We do not need them. That Word of God, written and preserved for us in our own language, is supposed to be enough, like the Old Testament was for the Jews, and as the New Testament was for the early Christians in Greek, Latin, Italian, Spanish, German, etc.

There are studies within as tangents on words, subjects found within the two testaments, as to broaden the scope of the study, to learn more, deeper truths. This is not an intellectual site with PhDs, theologians, and no worldly wisdom.. Check everything out, everything. Not just here, but with everything you read and see and hear. Be Bereans:

(Acts 17:11 [KJV])
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

(1 Thessalonians 2:13 [KJV])
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Always research for yourself, use all of the context, and never privately interpret!

1 Timothy Chapter 5: CARING FOR THE MANY WIDOWS INDEED, NOT THE WIDOWS

(1 Timothy 5:1 [KJV])
Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;

(Matthew 7:15 [KJV])
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

(Matthew 10:16 [KJV])
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

(Luke 10:3 [KJV])
Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

(Acts 20:29 [KJV])
For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

(1 Timothy 5:2 [KJV])
The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.

WIDOWS: NEEDY OR NOT SO NEEDY WIDOWS

(Acts 6:1-3 [KJV])
And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

Sad to say, this set of passages is abused, heaped upon men whose wives make massive salaries in a woman's world, where they are hired over men, same qualifications. Needless to say, the Word of God demands that we men work, no doubt, but the roles since the 1950s have reversed, where women go to work outside of the home, the kids go to "day care" (raised by non-family, others), and the man also has a job, but maybe makes as much or less than the wife, and she lords that over him, with these verses, especially verse eight below. Sad, but the context of this verse is widows, not wives. Should the man provide for his family? Yes. Should the woman be a CEO of a massive company, making millions of dollars, way more than the man?? Um, no. CEO of the household, yes. See Proverbs 31:1 to the end, see the other epistles here by Paul on the roles of wives and husbands, since the garden. This is why there is an admonition, repeated from Scripture at the top of this and many other pages, to retain the context of all verses, and not privately interpret them according to what the world tells you they mean! This set of verses is about wht to do with widows, start to finish

(Titus 2:4-5 [KJV])
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

(1 Timothy 5:3 [KJV])
Honour widows that are widows indeed.

(1 Timothy 5:4 [KJV])
But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.

(1 Timothy 5:5 [KJV])
Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.

(1 Thessalonians 5:17 [KJV])
Pray without ceasing.

(1 Timothy 5:6 [KJV])
But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

(1 John 2:15 [KJV])
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

(1 Timothy 5:7 [KJV])
And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.

(1 Timothy 5:8 [KJV])
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

(1 Timothy 5:9 [KJV])
Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man,

(Matthew 15:5-6 [KJV])
But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

(1 Timothy 5:10 [KJV])
Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

(1 Timothy 5:11-12 [KJV])
But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry; Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.

(1 Timothy 5:13 [KJV])
And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

(1 Timothy 5:14 [KJV])
I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

(1 Timothy 5:15 [KJV])
For some are already turned aside after Satan.

(1 Timothy 5:16 [KJV])
If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.

(1 Timothy 5:17 [KJV])
Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

(1 Timothy 5:18 [KJV])
For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

CARE OF SHEPHERDS OF SHEEP

(Luke 10:7 [KJV])
And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

(1 Corinthians 9:1 [KJV])
Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?

(1 Corinthians 9:2 [KJV])
If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.

(1 Corinthians 9:3 [KJV])
Mine answer to them that do examine me is this,

(1 Corinthians 9:4 [KJV])
Have we not power to eat and to drink?

(1 Corinthians 9:5 [KJV])
Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

(1 Corinthians 9:6 [KJV])
Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?

(1 Corinthians 9:7 [KJV])
Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?

(1 Corinthians 9:8 [KJV])
Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?

(1 Corinthians 9:9 [KJV])
For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?

(1 Timothy 5:19 [KJV])
Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.

(1 Timothy 5:20 [KJV])
Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

(1 Timothy 5:21 [KJV])
I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

(1 Timothy 5:22 [KJV])
Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

(1 Timothy 5:23 [KJV])
Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.

WINE, n. [Gr.]
  1. The fermented juice of grapes; as the wine of the Madeira grape; the wine of Burgundy or Oporto.
  2. The juice of certain fruits, prepared with sugar, spirits, etc.; as currant wine; gooseberry wine.
  3. Intoxication.
Noah awoke from his wine. Gen 9.
  4. Drinking.
They that tarry long at the wine. Prov 23.
Corn and wine, in Scripture, are put for all kinds of necessaries for subsistence. Psalm.
Bread and wine, in the Lords supper, are symbols of the body and blood of Christ.

(1 Timothy 5:24 [KJV])
Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.

(1 Timothy 5:25 [KJV])
Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.

BEFO'REHAND, adv. [before and hand.] In a state of anticipation or preoccupation; often followed by with; as, you are before hand with me.
  1. Antecedently; by way of preparation or preliminary; aforetime. Math.13. 1 Tim 5.
  2. In a state of accumulation, so as that more has been received than expended. A man is beforehand. In this use it is more properly an adjective.
  3. At first; before any thing is done.
(Hebrews 4:12-13 [KJV])
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

(James 2:14-17 [KJV])
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
