WEEK 4 OUTLINE
In 1859, the year Darwin published The Origin of Species, the idea about cells was that they were about as complicated as today's ping pong balls. Of course today, we know there is nothing further from the truth.
THE LIVING CELL
1. What Is A Cell?
The building blocks of life.
Robert Hooke, inventor of the microscope, looked at cork. He noticed that the cork was made up of little boxes, or cells.
Bacteria are called Prokaryotes, or "before nucleus". All other cells are called Eukaryotes, or "true nucleus".
THE HUMAN BODY HAS AN ESTIMATED 40 TRILLION CELLS,
ALL WORKING TOGETHER TO MAKE YOU FUNCTION.
To grasp what exactly a cell is and does, you really have to compare it with something familiar to you. Let's take, for instance, a factory.
"Perhaps in no other area of modern biology is the challenge posed by the extreme complexity and
ingenuity of biological adaptations more apparent than in the fascinating new world of the molecular
cell....To grasp the reality of life as it has been revealed by molecular biology, we must magnify a
cell a thousand million times until it is twenty kilometers in diameter and resembles a giant
airship large enough to cover a great city like London or New York. What we would then see would be
an object of unparalleled complexity and adaptive design. On the surface of the cell we would see
millions of openings, like the port holes of a vast ship, opening and closing to allow a continual
stream of materials to flow in and out. If we were to enter one of these openings we would find
ourselves in a world of supreme technology and bewildering complexity..."
Michael Denton, in Evolution: A Theory In Crisis, (Adler & Adler, Publishers, Inc.), back cover, p. 328.
The rest of the paragraph and indeed the chapter is devoted to the complexity of the cell. In describing the cell, Mr. Denton acknowledges the incredible design of it, yet there is no indication in the book that the man ever becomes a Creationist. In fact, he still believe in Evolution, in spite of the evidence HE presents, not because of it.
2. What Is DNA?
Stuff of life. Contains your genes, which is all of the information about who you are.
A cell needs 20 different proteins to produce DNA. These proteins are produced by the DNA. The molecule has to contain not only the information needed to make the protein, but information needed to make itself again(copy).
Also, the code is exact. If you have three parts A,B,C), you have six chances(ABC, ACB, BAC, BCA, CBA, CAB). Only one combination will work. And it has to be correctly aligned-quickly-so as to avoid breakdown of the parts themselves. You need a cell to have DNA. You need DNA to have a cell. Kind of like the chicken and the egg problem. Need I say
more?
Let's let the Evolutionist say more.
"Did the code and the means of translating it appear simultaneously in Evolution? It seems almost
incredible that any such coincidence could have occurred, given the extraordinary complexities of both sides and the requirements that they be coordinated accurately for survival. By a Pre-Darwinian(or a skeptic of Evolution after Darwin) this puzzle surely would have to be interpreted as the most powerful sort of evidence for special Creation."
Caryl P. Haskings,"Advances and Challenges in Science in 1970", American Scientist, Vol. 59 May-June 1971, p. 305.
3. Six Feet In A Cell
- Inside the cell is the nucleus.
- Inside the nucleus is the DNA.
- The nucleus of a starfish cell is a foot long.
- The same for a starfish is two foot.
- The DNA stretched out completely goes to six feet!
- For frogs, it is eight feet!
- If you take a certain virus in frogs and puncture it the genetic material that will spill out will be 500 times longer than the package(cell) containing it. 500 Times!
- Can we as humans make a package that can hold something like this?
- Does this happen by accident?
- Can this precise design come about without a
designer?
- The genetic code is printed precisely on this DNA.
Scientists are right now trying to figure out the code from a single DNA molecule. They are using the most sophistocated supercomputers available to crack the code.
- Could such a code as this come about by itself?
- Did the supercomputers come about by themselves?
- The code is much, much more complicated than anything man has ever invented, or even dreamed of.
- The amount of information in EACH CELL of the human body would fill 4,000 volumes.
Another Example
- There are about five billion people on earth.
- The storage system for cell information is so small that the blueprints for all of the people in the world could fit in an aspirin tablet!
- The amount of information contained in the DNA for all of the different types of organisms that have ever lived would fit into a teaspoon, with room left over for ALL of the information contained in all of the books ever written!
This calculation was done by George Gaylord Simpson in an work called The History of Life", in Evolution Of Life, , ed. Sol Tax, University of Chicago Press, pp.117-180, 135.
In the fossil record, we have single-celled organisms, and trilobites. No two, three, five, twenty, etc. celled animals existed?
No natural process is in any way known to produce a program. The code is just that. All natural known processes make the amount of information less over time. Only the intervention of an external source of information can make life possible.
To compare information in the cell to computer bits, the following comparison to show how much is in the cell is offered:
Earth 160 Bits
Solar System-170 bits
Universe-235 bits
Protium Molecule-1500 bits
E. coli bacterium-7 million bits
Human "Simple Cell"-20 million bits
So how can a universe of much less complexity produce a cell of much more complexity?
From whence cometh this information if it's not preent in the universe to begin with?
Spontaneous Generation - Impossible!
- Louis Pasteur proved this in the 1800's.
- Biogenesis(life begets life)-The rule.
- Abiogenesis(Life from non-life)-not the rule.
4. How Evolutionists Believe DNA Started Out
This is the biggest stumbling block for the Evolutionists. Life from non-life is their pet peeve.
- Many ideas have been propounded.
- Aggregates of chemicals came together to form a DNA
molecule.
- They assume a primordial soup and then some form of
energy inputted to force the formation of life from
non-life. But the chance of something coming into
being by chance is nil since the oxygen would
destroy the process (amino acids cannot come
together with oxygen present).
"Basic building blocks of life-amino acids and nucleotides-were made in the earth's atmosphere by the passage of lightning bolts through primitive gases. Then they drained out of the atmosphere into the oceans and made a kind of "chicken soup" in which collisions occurred. Eventually, the first self-replicating molecule was formed by accident, and as soon as a molecule could divide and reproduce itself, you had a magic law broken for the first time. The scientific story of genesis has chance as it's basic ingredient. You look at the story in detail, and every element of it is governed by some random event. A random collision among atoms that created the stars including the sun. Random collisions of the molecules of life that created the first DNA, the first self-replicating molecule. This fact has both puzzled and distressed many students of the subject. They feel that since the story leads in an unbroken line from that chance event of a threshold straight up to man, there's something unsatisfactory about it, about a story that says that man's existence on earth is a product of chance."
-Dr. Robert Jastrow, from N.A.S.A., founded the Goddard Space Studies, as quoted in Geo Magazine,
February 1982, pp. 11-12.
There are many other theories as to how this might happen, but this is the general one. The idea is that, given enough time, anything can happen.
THE MILLER-UREY EXPERIMENT: LIFE?
Several years ago , when my sister-in-law was at my home, she told me that she was taught that "they" had made life in a laboratory. This is a total lie.In 1952-1953 there were two scientists named Stanley L. Miller and Harold C. Urey in Chicago who did an experiment in the laboratory to show how life could form in a primordial soup. They passed electrical sparks(60,000 volts)through a glass housing containing Methane, Water Vapor, Hydrogen, and ammonia-NO OXYGEN. There was a trap to collect the results, and all kinds of precautions. After about a week, the experimenters found that
some simple amino acids had formed. Did they get the beginnings of life? Did they prove that the spontaneous generation of life from life was possible? Let's check the results and see:.
- They got right and left-handed amino acids.
- Right-handed amino acids are the mirror image of left-handed.
- They are composed of the same exact material in the same ORDER, but they face in opposite directions-like a mirror!
- This is an utter failure. Only left-handed amino acids are possible for life to exist.
- EVEN ONE right-handed amino acid in a chain and the chain can be destroyed. No Exceptions.
- When they synthesize amino acids in the laboratory, they almost always get a fifty-fifty split of right and left-handed
amino acids.
- Just the process alone takes intense amounts of work, control, and intelligence to separate the two to use them in medicine.
- The AMOUNT of energy that they used comprises only .01% of the energy of the sun.
- The rays of the sun are known to break down amino acids very rapidly.
- The type of energy that they used was not made up of all of the wavelengths of the sun.
- Eleven percent of the sun's energy was left out.
- They had a special apparatus to collect the results, suck them into a tube and preserve them-immediately. This could not occur in nature.
- They assumed that there was no oxygen in the past. If there were no oxygen in the past, then the "present is the key to the past" is an invalid statement. There is evidence in the bubbles trapped in fossilised tree sap(amber) to show that not only was there oxygen in the past, but that there was much more than in the present. Even Isaac Asimov himself conceded
that if oxygen were present in the past then the spontaneous generation of life would be impossible!
Now let us examine the whole idea in a nutshell. If the experimenters had to use specially selected(by themselves) chemicals, which they themselves figured out using intelligence, if they used handmade glass parts requiring intelligence, controlled sparks over a long period of time, a special tool to take the results immediately away and preserve them, and still they only got something that was not even a mere shadow of a protein, or even something usable, can we safely assume that this can happen in nature without controls, laboratories, in the face of a killer sun?
In saying that the generation of life by chance does not require intelligence,
are they not saying that they themselves have no intelligence?
|
Using all of this intelligence to prove that it does
not require intelligence is not very intelligent!
|
IS EVOLUTION EVEN POSSIBLE?
1. The odds of a 200 part system coming together by chance.
First of all, a 200 part system is impossibly simple compared to the real world. This is only because the numbers would be even more difficult to demonstrate. Besides, the 200 part system is sufficient to show the impossibiblity of Evolution occurring.
- N.A.S.A uses a 400 part system of a protein molecule.
- Sooo.... 1 X 2 X 3 X 4 X 5....X200 is the same as 200!
- When you multiply this out, you get 1 in 10^375. That's 10 with 375 zeros after it.If you tried to link and unlink the parts in a 200 part system, a billion times a second, for thirty billion years, that would be only 10^9(times a second attempts) X
- 10^18(seconds in thirty billion years) divided by 200(parts) = 5x 1077 thus:
- 109 X 1018/200= Only 5 X 10104 tries!
- But there are 10375 possible combinations!
This is not even enough time to try one complete set of attempts. Don't forget that you can have no errors in the code at all. If it's a-2-j-7-m-o-d-1-9-........exactly, then that is exactly what is required.
But the problem becomes worse as you only have a short time in which to do this as the second law of thermodynamics is working against you.
There is an old saying in science, that says:
"WHATEVER CHANCE CREATES, IT ALMOST INSTANTANEOUSLY ANNIHILATES."
Here is another example with amino acids, and proteins. This one is given by Christopher Wills in Wisdom Of The Genes, p.240-242:
If you trained monkeys(that's right-monkeys) to use protein-making machines, and they could EACH produce a 347 part protein in one hour. But the order of the proteins it is incapable of organizing. This is the chance. The same machine is capable of randomly inserting any amino acid at any time and at any place along the chain. Then suppose that you had enough monkeys to fill the universe, each monkey and his machine taking up about 10 cubic meters of space. Judging by the present known size of the universe, the size can be estimated to be around 10^33 light years. Being able to fit 10^38 cubicles(monkey, machine and all) in each light year.
To recap, you need something 347 parts long, exactly in the correct order, with 20 different type parts to choose for each of the 347 places. In other words, for EACH spot on the chain you have twenty chances, or symbols to choose from, but only ONE is correct. Also, the try is random, not specific at all. Any symbol could come out at any time. What would be the chance of the monkey and the machine producing a protein known as dehydrogenase?
THERE IS ONLY ONE CHANCE IN:
20 X 20 X 20 X 20 X 20....347 TIMES, OR....
1 in 20347 which is the same as 10444.
The amount of monkeys able to fit into the known universe is:
1033 X 1038 OR 1071 CUBICLES.
Remembering that they will have to get it right the very first time, what are their chances for success??
10444 - 1071 = 10373
Written out, that is:
One single chance for getting it exactly right, first time, in
10, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000!
Assuming that the average of 10444 times is giving them only one chance each, let's say that they attempt fifty chances each, including mistakes, before getting it right(which is generous and of course, not reality at all).
The number of tries would give them a total time of 10369 years before they would even ever get it right. The postulated age of the universe is only around 2 X 1010 years, so the universe would be long dead (not to mention the monkeys!) before they could ever make the correct one at all.
Sir Fred Hoyle calculated the odds of all of the enzymes for the most primitive of cells would be conservatively at 2,000. For one to come together by chance , with it's appropriate active site(correctly shaped surface area-all
important in enzyme work): 1 in 1020.
He calculates the odds for this occurring as being the same as a blindfolded person doing the Rubik's cube.
This being the case, the odds of them being produced by chance goes something like this:
ODDS OF THE SINGLE ENZYME 1 IN 10 15 COMING TOGETHER BY CHANCE
ODDS OF APPROPRIATE ACTIVE SITE X 1 IN 10 5
1 IN 10 20
ODDS OF 2000 ENZYMES 1 IN 102,000
Soooo.....
- MR. Hoyle concludes tha this is even impossible to have happened if the entire universe contained a primoridial soup!
- He calculates these odds as being the same as a tornado ripping through a junk yard and completely assembling a Boeing 747 the first time!
- He even adds that you could not get one if you had a whole universe full of tornadoes!
- he also calculates these odds as the same odds as throwing 50,000 double sixes in a row, first time, without fail!
The late Dr. A. E. Wilder-Smith, with three earned Phds, says that the odds are similar to dropping as many letters for his monogram(AEWS) as you want out of the window of an airplane which is flying at a very low altitude and getting them
to land on the roof of his house the first time in the correct order. He argues that this is rationalized by evolutionists by saying that you can give the whole process more time and surely it is inevitable. So he says, "let's fly higher!"
The chances are now even worse, for he says that the letters would now spread even further out and away from the house!
Fly even higher, and the letters he says would spread all over England, with none landing anywhere near his house!
2. How Small Is This Number?
Mathemeticians agree that up to 1 in 10^50 is considered impossible. You can see the faith required to believe that something so much smaller than an impossible number is declared SCIENCE, while any idea of a Creator or
designer being responsible is considered religious.
- The chances of being struck by lightning is 1 in 600,000.
- The chances of winning the lottery on average is about 1 in 5.2 million.
- The amount of particles in the known universe is 1080. This was calculated by Sir Arthur Eddington, a British Astronomer.
- The amount of electrons that you could fit into the known universe, with no empty spaces, is10 130.
3. 30 BILLION YEARS IS 10^18 SECONDS
Compare 10375 To 1018.
Does this sound reasonable?
Besides, a 200 part system is impossibly simple.
This is a quote from Fred Hoyle, in "The Big
Bang in Astronomy", New Scientist 92(Nov. 19,
1981):526.
"I don't know how long it is going to be before astronomers generally recognize that the combinatorial arrangement of not even one among the many thousands of biopolymers on which life depends could have been arrived at by natural
processes here on the earth. Astronomers will have a little difficulty at understanding this because they will be assured by biologists that this is not so, the biologists in turn having been assured in their turn by others that this is not so. The "others" are a group of persons who believe, quite openly, in mathematical miracles. They advocate the belief that tucked
away in nature, outside of normal physics, there is a law which performs miracles(provided the miracles are in the aid of biology). This curious situation sits oddly on a profession that for long has been dedicated to coming up with logical explanations of biblical miracles.... It is quite otherwise, however, with the modern mathematical miracle workers,
who are always found living in the twilight fringes of thermodynamics."
Dr. Larry Butler, Professor of Biochemistry at Purdue University, likes to give this challenge to his students:
"Assume any primordial soup you wish, with all the organic chemicals you specify-enzymes, nucleic acids, sugars, or whatever you like, as long as they are not living. The mixture must be sterile, of course, to prevent bacterial contamination. Assume also any kind of atmosphere you wish, including any compounds known to be present anywhere in the known solar system. Then assume any kind of energy you wish-electrical sparks, heat, ultraviolet light, or any known form of energy. Now show, either analytically or experimentally, that a truly living organism will arise out of this set of materials."
To date, not one person has stepped forward to accept this challenge.
4. How Many Words Have Ever Been Published?
| AVERAGE NUMBER OF WORDS PER PAGE | 500 |
| AVERAGE NUMBER OF PAGES PER BOOK | 500 |
| AVERAGE NUMBER OF COPIES PRINTED OF EACH BOOK | 10,000 |
| AVERAGE NUMBER OF BOOKS PUBLISHED PER YEAR | 10,000,000
|
| TOTAL NUMBER OF YEARS DURING X WHICH BOOKS HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED | 4,000 |
| 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 OR 1020 WORDS EVER PUBLISHED |
6. Can Aluminum Fly?
Henry Morris gives this illustration in his
book......
- Look at an airplane.
Take off the wings.
|
Do they fly? No
- The seats don't fly.
 The pilot doesn't fly.
 The wheels don't fly.
The wood, aluminum, glass, plastic and metal do not fly.
|
What makes it fly?
The engineers, assemblers, make it fly. The aluminum can't fly by itself, but if you stretch it out and precisely design and shape it, attached to a perfectly designed aircraft(complete), then and only then it will fly.
The same logic should be applied to living systems, which are much more complex than any aircraft.
MUTATIONS
1. What Is A Mutation?
A change in a gene is called a mutation. The information on a gene is now different. So the descendant is now "slightly" different. The key word is "slightly".
It is still the same organism.
2. Are They Harmful?
- 99.99% of all mutations are, without a doubt, harmful.
- The Evolution model demands that many good mutations-in a row-even millions of them, in a vertical climb, for a new species to arise.
- The Creation model requires that mutations occur on a purely horizontal level.
- The chances are between one in ten thousand and one in a million for a good mutation. And that is only ONE good one. The same chance is then applied to the next mutation(the exponents are added).
- Now you can appreciate the enormous barrier between kinds.
- There are many causes of mutations(radiation, chemicals, inbreeding, etc.).
- All chance mutations in nature occur without warning, and don't make a better organism, or help it to adapt.
- Almost all do nothing or cause harm.
- With all of the radiation dosing of fruit flies over the years, we still get fruit flies. We don't get better fruit flies, just mutant fruit flies.
,
"In 1800, experiments were begun in France to increase the sugar content of table beets, which at that time amounted to 6%. By 1878, the sugar content had reached 17%. Further selection failed to increase the sugar content above that figure. The information for a 17% sugar content was already written into the code of the beets, with a limit as to how much was to be the limit. More information did not just suddenly appear from nowhere in the beets. It had to be bred to be brought out."
-Dr. Duane Gish, Challenge Of The Fossil Record, p. 33-34.
- The worker tried to reduce the number of bristles on the thorax of fruit flies by artificial selection and breeding. In each generation, the average number of bristles became fewer until the twentieth generation. After that, the average remained the same, although he selected as before. Selection was no longer effective; the upper limit had been reached.
- The same is true for the dogs. All types of canines could come from two wolf-like animals. The information for the Dachsund, Labrador, Dingo, St. Bernard, Poodle, etc. is all there, but it took man's selective breeding, skills, know how,
intelligence and patience, to bring out the different varieties of dogs.
- If Evolution could be advanced with radiation, then why do we worry about the decay of the ozone layer?
Won't we get more, better species on earth? I think not. We'll get more cancer.
- The claim is often made by Evolutionists that the theory of Evolution is proven by the fact of the resistance to antibiotic drugs by many bacteria. They neglect to tell you that some of the bacteria frozen since 1946, when thawed, were found to already be resistant to the drugs. This means that the capability to resist the drug was already present in the bacteria. They did not evolve it. Besides, they were still bacteria. They did not turn into jellyfish, which is
Macro-Evolution, not Micro-Evolution.
THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION
MUTATIONS

THE REAL WORLD
99.99% OF THE TIME YOU GET THE BOTTOM RESULTS. THE OTHER TIMES YOU GET SOMETHING THAT IS LESS DEADLY, HARMFUL, OR NEUTRAL. YOU WILL NOT GET SOMETHING THAT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM, DENOTES MACROEVOLUTION.
Julian Huxley, The grandson of Thomas Huxley, "Darwin's Bulldog", and an outspoken enemy of Creationists:
"A proportion of favorable mutations of one in a thousand does not sound much, but is probably generous....And a total of a million mutational steps sounds a great deal but is probably an understatement..... However, let us take these figures as being reasonable estimates. With this proportion, but without any selection, we should clearly have to breed a million strains(a thousand squared) to get one containing two favorable mutations; and so on, up to a thousand to the millionth power to get one containing a million. Of course, this could not happen, but it is a useful way of visualizing the fantastic oddsagainst getting a number of favorable mutations in one strain through pure chance alone. A thousand to the millionth power, when written out, becomes the figure one with three million noughts after it; and that would take three large volumes of about 500 pages each, just to print!...No one would bet on anything so improbable happening. And yet it has happened! It has happened, thanks to the working of natural selection and the properties of living substance which make natural selection inevitable!"
-Julian Huxley, Evolution in Action(New York: Harper and Brothers Co., 1953)p.41.
Let's examine his statements.
- First, he at least(by necessity) readily admits the mathematical odds against his theory.(improbable)
- Then, he says, of course, that it is impossible to have happened("Of course, this could not really happen, but...."
- Then he says it did happen("But it has happened!"). Does Mr. Huxley believe in miracles? Without a miracle worker?
- Then he says a sort of occultic, new age religious thing-namely that ("the properties of living substance make natural selection inevitable!")
- What are the properties of the living substances?
- Do these cells possess omnipotence, an attribute of God?
- Can YOU go from improbable, to impossible, to inevitable without being locked up in an asylum?
- Can ANYONE?
3. Gene Pool Expansion
With inbreeding, you get less information in the pool of genes, not more.
4. Variation Within Types As Opposed To Between Types
The Creation model predicts horizontal variation, and the Evolution model predicts vertical variation between types. What we always see in nature and, of course, in the fossil record, is horizontal variation-within types.
5. Carolus Linnaeus And The Stealing Of K,P,C,O,F,G,S
- Carolus Linnaeus was a naturalist of the 1700's.
- He was a Creationist, and believed in the constancy of species".
- He classified many plants, especially flowers; and animals.
- He also came up with the classification system we use today of Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order,
Family, Genus, and Species.
- He wrote about them in his great work Systema Naturae
- This system was based on similarities in the organisms.
- The system was later stolen by the Evolutionists and, to this day(in a big way), is used as a framework of the origin of species.
6. Natural Selection And Natural Change
Henry Morris of the Institute For Creation Research was asked one time if he believed in change. He said he had some in his pocket.
Natural Selection is often confused with Evolution and is propounded by the Evolutionists to be the main factor in Evolutionary change.
The problem is that the words denote that you must have something to select from. You cannot select from something that doesn't exist, and you can't have something that already exists be called something that evolved to it's present state. It's not new, it's selected from pre-existing individuals.
7. Exceptions To Entropy?
Evolutionists like to bypass the second law of thermodynamics in various ways. The following are a few of the ways that they have tried
A. It Is Not Applicable To Living Systems
Evolutionary scientists reason that, since we see things growing, the second law is being bypassed. Since the complexity of an organism seems to increase during it's life, they reason that the second law is being bypassed. This is not correct. First off, all of the information to make the organism is present the whole time. It just has to be used up to make the organism. Then you always wind up with less information.Besides, all organisms eventually reach a peak in development and start to break down. All organisms die.
NOTE: The best or most highly evolved organism would be one that doesn't die. If Evolution is true, and the struggle is always a push upward, why has not just such an organism evolved yet?
B. Second Law Not Operating In Past
Then the present is not the key to the past. Period.
C. Exceptions Possible
The chances of this happening are the same as a monkey or group of monkeys sitting down at a typewriter and typing out the entire works of Shakespeare first try with no errors 15 million times!
D. Doesn't Apply To Other Parts Of Universe
The only problem with this is that the place in which we live is called a UNI-verse and not a DI-verse. Besides, there is no evidence of this anywhere in the universe. We have always seen the same law being applied any place we have looked.
E. Doesn't Apply To Open Systems
The argument goes something like this: Since the earth is constantly being bombarded by energy from the sun, the earth can produce reversals in entropy. The idea is good but the problem is not the amount of energy, but rather the program or machine necessary to convert the available energy into workable, usable energy. The amount or type of energy is irrelevant. It's the CONVERSION that counts.
Suppose you had an automobile and it did not go. You poured gasoline in it. Still it sat. You called some guys with a truck full of fuel. They poured gasoline in the tank, much more than you did. Still it did nothing, not even a sound. You look under the hood, and VOILA! NO ENGINE! You see it is not the amount of fuel that is the problem, but rather the fuel conversion system, and the transmission, and the axles, the wheels, etc.
A plant lacking a photosynthetic ability is soon dead, no matter how much radiation of whatever type of energy you want to throw at it.
TRAITS
1. What Is A Trait?
A trait is a characteristic of a particular organism.
2. How Can So Many Come All At Once?
- Any organism possesses many different traits needed to perform it's living functions. They all have to be in place and act together at the same time in order for the animal to live in the world.
- For instance, the leopard possesses stealth to stalk it's prey, strength(which, pound for pound, makes it the strongest cat) for the capture, claws to bring the prey down, spots for camouflage, short distance speed for the pounce.
- If any one of these traits is not present or lacking in performance, the leopard will not live long at all. There is not much future in a dead leopard!
- You yourself have many needed traits which make you unique. For instance, the acid in your stomach is strong enough to burn a hole in the carpet, yet it does not burn a hole in your stomach, because of the makeup of the stomach
lining. These traits both have to be there at the same time. Without the acid, you could not digest your food. Without the protection of the cells of the stomach, you would die instantly.
- Suppose your body had no immune system, as in A.I.D.S.? Where would you be then? Could the body evolve first without the immune system? Could the immune system evolve without a body to dwell in?
- What about the clotting of the blood? Blood without the clotting factor is useful only up to the point of the first(and last) injury- an inevitability in nature.
- How about life as a person before developing hemoglobin to carry oxygen to the cells?
- Every organism has many traits, all working together to make up the package. Each package is and has to be complete, fully formed, fully functional, always.
3. AaBb? Say What?
The genetic code is programmed precisely enough that you can be assured of traits when breeding. The process is not nearly random enough to get whatever you want. By this I mean that you will always get the same organism, albeit a variety.
- When you breed two dogs, no matter what varieties, you will always get another type of dog, or a mix of the two types, plus any mixture from generations past. You will not get an elephant, a rodent, a cat or anything other than a canine.
- If you could get anything else, no woman would ever want to get pregnant, for fear of some strange creature being born!
Genetics is a very precise technology.
- The "father" of genetics is considered to be Gregor Mendel. He first experimented with pea plants. He wrote the two Mendellian Laws which the Evolutionists have consistently tried to fit into their theory, but to no avail.
- He proved the stability of the basic "kinds", this fact seemingly overlooked by the Evolutionist.
- He found when crossing tall and dwarf plants over several generations, that the split with the offspring was not even, and there were what he called DOMINANT and RECESSIVE genes. The dominant (tall) outnumbered the recessive (dwarf) three to
one. No matter what he did, this was the result. The first time he cross-pollinated them, he got all tall. He tried crossing the other way and got the same result. He got no plants of intermediate size. The second generation of the tall plants was self-pollinated, with both tall and short progeny being the result. This was where his 3:1 ratio came in. 3 talls:1 short.
4. Fruit Flies?
Theodosius Dobzhansky irradiated thousands of generations of Drosophila fruit flies. To this day the result has always been some sort of FRUIT FLY. Never was a different type of insect such as a spider, ant, praying mantis, etc. produced.
- A certain Professor Ogden from a local university has stated recently that they came up with a fruit fly with eight functional legs, thereby proving Evolution. But it's still a fruit fly!
- The experiment is done in the hopes of evolving a new insect or something. All attempts have failed to date. If they ever get something other than a fruit fly(impossible) will this prove that it can happen by chance under the sun?
- There is an "example", of Evolution in the textbooks to this day of natural selection and Evolution at work. It is called the Peppered Moth. This moth lives in Europe, and a white variety lived on the trees in abundance years ago. The birds could not see them well, so they escaped thier hungry beaks. With the onset of the industrial revolution, the trees became polluted and soot turned them black. The white variey had a hard time not being seen against the black background and consequently was eaten almost to
extinction.
- At this same time, a "NEW" variety "EMERGED"-a black variety. This color camouflaged it and protected it from the birds. This made the black moths' populations rise. The white had appeared to turn, or "evolve" to be black.
- The only problem with this idea is that both colors existed at both times-only the populations had shifted. Nothing evolved. Yet to this day this is in the textbooks as "proof" of Evolution.
- This is highly deceptive, and certainly not science. Yet this is a very common practice in Evolutionary circles. When you don't have evidence for your theory, you have to desperately come up with it somehow.
5. Pigeon Rocks?
- Charles Darwin, upon his return from the Galapagos Islands, started to breed different varieties of pigeons in order to find proof of Evolution.
- All different types of pigeons can and have been bred from the common rock pigeon. The plumage, colors, shapes are all exotic.
- But they are all still pigeons! They have never gotten a vulture, or an eagle or a sparrow.
- When you cross a horse with a donkey, you ALWAYS get a sterile mule.
- When the same is done between a zebra and a horse, you ALWAYS get a sterile zebronkey.
- With a lion and a tiger, it's a sterile liger.
TRAITS IN THE ANIMAL KINGDOM
1. How Many Examples Of Creation Are There?
- In all of the plant and animal kingdoms you find evidence of a Creator. The examples below are just a few of them all, but these are some of the most obvious. I could be accused of deliberately choosing ones that fit the Creation model, but as was shown earlier in the fossils, there are no
- Evolutionary examples, living or dead.
- The fact is that all living things exhibit a high degree of design specialization. The problem with extinctions is not that the animals are being naturally selected out, but rather the second law of thermodynamics is proving true across the board. We don't get more types over time, but less. Man is also helping extinctions out with greed.

4. Woodpecker
- Bang Your What Into A Tree?
- What Did He Do Before The Skull, Tongue, Muscles,
Shock Absorbing Tissues, Feet, Etc. Evolved?
- The tongue itself is a marvelous design, impossible to
have evolved. It originates in the right nostril,
splits into two segments, wraps around the head on the
outside just beneath the skin, enters the lower jaw,
and comes out the mouth. This design is necessary
because of the length of the tongue. It is three to
five times the normal length for birds. At the
beginning of it, it contains five bones for stiffness,
called the hyoid apparatus.
- D. The hyoid apparatus itself is an engineering wonder.
- They are connected to each other by ball joint-socket sets(two bones/socket), much like the ones on the front end of your car. There is one ball joint(two bones) at the place where the tongue leaves the nostril, one set of bones at the fork of the tongue, and one bone at the end to stiffen the tongue.
- The beak is strong enough to penetrate any hardwood, some of which would easily bend a nail. To do this, you would not only need the strong beak, but a shock absorbing set of tissues to prevent a concussion. You would also need feet strong enough to hold you on the tree for the blows, this being accomplished with the help of opposing toes on the foot, all other birds not having this exact type design.
The point is simply this: you can not go around banging your head into a tree to look for a bug which you do not know is there, without all of the features necessary to make the venture successful. Any component parts missing from this complete set of traits and it
is Headache City.

7. The Bald Eagle
A Scientific Analysis Of Genesis, By Dr. Edward F. Blick, p. 5:
A scientific study was conducted by students at the University Of Oklahoma with eagles. The study, done in a wind tunnel, showed that the upward-curved slotted-tip feathers reduce the drag so much that they can soartremendous distances in air currents without flapping their wings, thus:
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not grow weary; and they shall walk and not faint"
-Isiah 40:31
8. Bolas Spiders
This is a spider which makes a web and balls it together to form a ball. It uses this ball as a sticky glob to catch insects. It waits for an unsuspecting insect to fly close enough to catch, then it swings the glob at the insect and, no matter the size, the prey sticks to the
glob like glue. The timing alone is so crucial to catch a flying insect that it seems impossible that it would have evolved over long periods of time. It has to remake the glob every half hour or so, probably because the glob dries out. How does the spider get enough moths, etc. to fly by?
Scientists don't know, but they suspect that the spider releases a scent or hormone to attract the prey(common among insects). The gradual Evolution of such a device as a total mystery to any Evolutionist. There is no partial step that would function enough to assist the spider in surviving.
In fact, all spiders have to premix the substance for making a web. The apparatus to dispense the web is extremely complex, consisting of several nozzles looking sort of like a shower massage head. If the spider mixes too little, no web. If it mixes too much, a bad web.
How does the spider know beforehand how much to make?
9. "Rock" Crabs-literally!
There is a crab which puts a stone on it's back for the sole purpose of balance. No stone-no balance. When the stone falls off, the crab is no longer level. It "knows"this and replaces the stone. How does the crab "know" it is not level? What would make a crab pick up a stone and install it on it's back to balance? What did the crab do before the stone? No satisfactory Evolutionary answer could explain this strange behavior
10. What A Lunch!
There is a certain planaria, or flatworm, called a microstomum.
- It eats hydra which are small underwater animals that have nematocysts on the "head" end.
- These nematocysts are for the purpose of catching prey. In hydras, they either contain a deadly stinger(penetrants), barbs(volvents), or an adhesive(glutinants) to grab the prey. The hydra is green and gets it's color from the algae which live in it.
- Just the nematocysts' chances of coming together by chance is enough to make the head of any evolutionist swim. There are over twenty types of different nematocysts which have been described by science.
- The typical one consists of a tiny capsule called a cnidocyte which has a material similar to chitin in it.
- The end of the capsule extends out to become a long filament, on the end of which are small dart-like projections, sometimes with barbs.
- Over the capsule is a cover called an operculum to encase it all nicely and neatly.
- On the outside of the capsule, at the top, is a hair trigger called a cnidocil.
- There is a pressure(osmotic) inside the capsule of 140 atmospheres.
- There is another pressure which rushes in(hydrostatic) the moment the hair trigger releases it.
- This pressure forces the filament out the lid and at the target. Then the weapon injects the barbs or poison into the prey or sticks to it to haul it in.
The rest is history.
- Just contemplating the concept of this complex organ coming into existence by chance is enough to make you dizzy! But there's
more......
- Nearly any animal that swims along and brushes into the cnidocil is caught-except the planaria!
- The planaria has the ability to eat the hydra without setting off the nematocysts!
- Then it turns around and uses those same nematocysts for it's own defense!
- To account for this incredible set of machines in both the hydra and the planaria by natural selection and random mutations(mistakes) is absurd.
11. The Eye
Charles Darwin wrote in his ever popular On The Origin Of Species:
"To suppose that the eye, with all it's inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection,
seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree."
- Charles Darwin, On The Origin Of Species,New York: Avenel Books, 1979 p.217 (Chapter 6, "Difficulties on Theory", First Edition 1859).
- The human eye is so complex that the chances of coming together by chance is impossible. NO single part of it can
be missing. All of the complexities of the eye, put together, stagger the imagination.
- The amount of photoreceptors in the eye is astronomical. There are about 125 million rods, and 7 million cones. The center of the retina has a density of about 150,000 cones per square millimeter. All of this is packed into a package the size of a tiny ball.
- The light intensity from the daylight to the night is about 10 billion to one. Yet the eye performs perfectly at both times of day.
- The eye lens has an adjustable aperture, a fluid interior called the acqueous humor which is changed every four hours of your life automatically, tears to clean it, lids and lashes to wipe it clean regularly an automatically, muscles to change the shape of the eye, and muscles to rotate it. Without any of these systems, the eye can not function in any way shape or form correctly or even at all.
- Indeed, Darwin was right, but HOW right he was he will never know.
- There are many more amazing things about the eye, enough to fill a volume.
VARIOUS EYES:
- Pigeons have filters for color removal-yellow for the sky, and red for the ground.
- Incidentally, the eye cells of a snake are not like those of a reptile at all.
- The frog has a remarkable eye altogether. The frog has a built in bug detector system in each eye of the highest caliber design. Experiments have been done at M.I.T. in which a frog was shown various shapes, patterns and moving objects. The response was electronically measured in the brain. Pictures of moving grass, flowers, squares, rectangles, triangles, etc. were passed in view with no
electrical response. But the moment a circular object or one CIRCULAR FRONT END, the electrical impulse (measured audibly through a speaker)turned from a dull muttering sound to a loud pulse. The dull muttering is actually the "on" position of the device, as turning on a stereo without putting on a tape. It is on, active, and ready; it is just that there is no input to the detector.
- No exceptions.
- The shape is the same as that of the front end of almost all insects. So the characteristics of the object necessary to trigger the response are:
- 1. The object must have a circular front. Leg
numbers, shapes do not play a part in this
at all.
- 2. The object must be moving.
- 3. The curve must be convex.
In addition to the bug detector, the frog also has protection devices built-in. There is an "edge detector" for recognizing the shapes of lily pads, flowers, the pond shore, etc. There are event detectors, which detect movement so as to protect the frog from danger as well as to prevent it from eating dead bugs. (You ca not feed a frog dead bugs by the way- they will starve to death surrounded by the most lovely assortment of fresh but dead bugs you can find. There are "dimming" detectors, which take over as the brightness changes suddenly, as when a bird flies overhead and casts it's deadly shadow. All of these nerve cells, about 500,000 or so, are contained in
the optic nerve. Almost all are for the "bug" and "event" detectors, the rest are for the "edge" or "dimming" detectors.
If our Air Force had to design something of this nature as a defense system for pilots or ground defense or any defense application, the cost to design it would be enormous, not to mention the task itself - IF it could be done at all. Engineers would have to spend years in making prototypes and production tests.
Why do some scientists think that this system could arise by chance? It can not work with half of it's components, as no system of search and destroy or protection can. All of the component parts have to work perfectly the first time or it's no go. There is no future in being a dead frog!
12. The Human Brain
- The Human brain is an engineering marvel of the highest caliber. It contains more electrical connections than the entire world!
- It contains 10 billion nerve cells, each with 1000 connections to other cells.
- Sir Charles Sherrington once said that the brain is so complex that it will never understand itself.
- The numbers regarding the probability of the human brain happening by chance are too big to even ponder.
- Isaac Asimov once said in an article entitled "In The Game Of Thermodynamics, You Can't Even Break Even", Smithsonian
Institute Journal(June 1970) p. 10:
"In man is a ten pound brain which, as far as we know, is the most complex and orderly arrangement of matter in the universe."
So the question arises:
How does a universe of less complexity produce something more complex? How do you get something made of ten parts from something that consists of five?
The answer?
It can't!
