Roman Catholicism
(2 Peter 1:20)
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
(Isaiah 28:10)
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
(Isaiah 28:13)
But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
The differences between Roman Catholicism and true, Biblical Christianity are numerous, glaring and well documented in Scripture and history. Christianity and Roman Catholicism are so far apart that it is easier to say what they have in common than to say what the differences are, for instance:
- Both believe in God
- Both believe in the Deity of the LORD Jesus Christ
- Both believe in the Trinity
Every single other doctrine espoused by the R.C.C. is rank heresy and/or blasphemy! Even the similarities have their differences, as documented below. The claims below are by decree of the Roman Catholic religion in their catechism, edicts, papal bulls, ex-Cathedra pronouncements, news releases, etc. There is no Scripture at all to back them up, which is why none is included by them in support, or those few given are always out of context and twisted, changed and privately interpreted to make a false doctrine, rather than taking the actual sense of the verses and believing them as they are written and meant to be taken, and all this without any merit or honesty. When one does not believe the R.C.C. false doctrinal heresies, they then brand YOU the heretic, and call you "wayward", "drifted apart from the Mother Church". This was the reason for the Dark Ages, the Inquisition, the R.C.C.s heresies, her lust for power, money and blood. That history is undeniable. We are commanded in 1 Timothy 2:15 to read the Scriptures, not to read into the Scriptures
The R.C.C. is pretending that the word "church" as used in Scripture refers to the "Holy Mother Church" of Rome. The churches in the new testament were local, small, independent bodies in homes and other buildings, just congregations of early believers meeting for prayer. fellowship and careful study of the Word of God. The "Holy Mother Church of Rome" is a massive religious and governmental organization/institution which has nothing to do with any local body of true believers, but rules over millions of other of its own little "churches". The theology is the same as "Iglesia ni Cristo", who try to claim salvation is only by an imagined unbroken succession to the early true church, specifically from the apostle Peter. True salvation is by grace through faith, repentance from one's sin and acceptance of the gospel as taught in the New Testament, not membership of a huge, worldwide, corrupt religious organization, claiming sole way to salvation through membership. Search Leo 1,the first to declare primacy over the whole Christendom. Your "church" now is steeped in idolatry. It is a pagan religion like hinduism with Christian names. Read the Bible.""
RO'MAN, a. [L. Romanus, from Roma, the principal city of the Romans in Italy. Rome is the oriental name Ramah, elevated, that is, a hill; for fortresses and towns were often placed on hills for security; Heb. to be high, to raise.]- Pertaining to Rome, or to the Roman people.
- Romish; popish; professing the religion of the pope.
Roman catholic, as an adjective, denoting the religion professed by the people of Rome and of Italy, at the head of which is the pope or bishop of Rome; as a noun, one who adheres to the papal religion.
- A native of Rome.
- A citizen of Rome; one enjoying the privileges of a Roman citizen.
- One of the Christian churches at Rome to which Paul addressed an epistle, consisting of converts from Judaism or paganism.
- Universal or general; as the Catholic church. Originally this epithet was given to the Christian church in general, but is now appropriated to the Romish church, and in strictness there is no Catholic church, or universal Christian communion. The epithet is sometimes set in opposition to heretic, sectary or schismatic.
- Liberal; not narrow minded, partial or bigoted; as a catholic man.
- Liberal; as catholic principles.
Catholic epistles, the epistles of the apostles which are addressed to all the faithful, and not to a particular church.
CATHOLIC, n. A papist.
According to the dictionary definition, the terms "Roman" "Catholic" are contradictions in terms, one meaning "From Rome" and the other meaning "Universal", as in not from Rome, but from everywhere.
*The Roman Catholic Church shall be herein referred to as the "R.C.C."
The following is a list of the major doctrines taught by the R.C.C. for the last 1,600 plus years, since she was started under Constantine in 312 A.D.
Roman Catholic Claim
Final Authority: The "Mother" Roman Catholic Church, the Pope, Ten Commandments(altered by R.C.C.) the Catechism, papal bulls, decrees and orders only by Roman Catholic Church, as well as only their interpretation of Scripture. Even when they make believe that the Scriptures are the Final Authority, what they mean by Scriptures is the corrupt R.C.C. scriptures, interpreted by their leaders only, which helps them retain their self-proclaimed authority.
Scripture/Christianity
Final Authority: The Scriptures alone(2 Peter 1:20)
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
(Proverbs 30:5-6)
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
(Deuteronomy 8:3)
And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
(Matthew 4:4)
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
(Luke 4:4)
And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
(Romans 14:5)
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
(Acts 17:10-12)
And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.
In other words, we are to live our spiritual lives by the Scriptures only, not by anything that any church or "church" or "pope" or anyone else says. They are all we need. One does not just get to name themselves as the Final Authority in matters of God. Only God gets to, and there is no indication He did. We also are able to understand the Scriptures without the R.C.C. (Romans 14:5)
Roman Catholic Claim
The Scriptures are what they say they are, include the "Apocrypha" and believes it has as much weight as God's Word- Consists of 1 and 2 Esdras, the book of Tobit, the book of Judith, the "Rest" of Esther, the Wisdom of Solomon, the book of Sirach, (also titled Ecclesiasticus), the book of Baruch, The Letter of Jeremiah, Song of the Three Young Men, the book of Susanna, Bel and the Dragon, The Additions to Daniel, The Prayer of Manasseh, and 1 and 2 Maccabee
- It was rejected both by Christians and Jews as not Scripture
- It is not ever quoted in the New Testament. Other real Old Testament books are not either, but that is up to God, not us, and that does not make the Apocrypha Scripture, and means it is not part of the Canon of Scripture
- Josephus never even mentioned it, and the early Christian writers such as Origen, Cyril of Jerusalem, Athanasius, Jerome spoke out against the Apocrypha
- The errors in it are obvious:
- It only takes one, single, lonely error to disqualify the Apocrypha, whereas there are many
- The use of magic (Tobit 6:5-7)
- Forgiveness by works (Tobit 4:11, 12:9)
- Money for the sins of the dead, as in R.C.C. indulgences(2 Maccabees 12:43)
- Historical Error: Nebuchadnezzar was called the king of the Assyrians(Judith 1:5), but he was the king of the Babylonians
- Historical Error: The Jews would be in captivity seven generations(Baruch 6:2), not seventy years()
- This list does not include internal and external contradictions
Scripture/Christianity
The Scriptures- Sixty six books, 40 authors, no Apocrypha, no Vaticanus, no Sinaiticus, no Alexandrian text or influence, no Septuagint (LXX), or extra added anything
- Translated in 1611 into English from other languages.
- No versions
- Only authorized translation
- Only one with a solid heritage
- Only one hated by R.C.C.
- Only one men gave their lives for, taken by the R.C.C.
- The Apocrypha was indeed included in the first edition of the 1611 King James Bible, sandwiched between the testaments, but only for historical purposes of the 400 silent years, and it was not considered Scripture, was separated out and the people were told and knew that it was not the Scriptures
- It was removed because of protests later. A copy of the original 1611 with the Apocrypha is still available for purchase online at various places
Roman Catholic Claim:
One must always pledge full, unequivocal, absolute and unquestioned allegiance to the R.C.C.- This would include all popes, all papal bulls, decrees, edicts, and their "version" of the Scriptures
- This would include all of the "sacraments"
- This would include any and all commands from a priest, nun, bishop, cardinal or any other authority of the R.C.C.
- This would include any and all doctrines, opinions, however changing, contradictory to God or even themselves
- To do otherwise is anathema to them, and you can be excommunicated, branded as a wayward heretic, until you repent and return to what they claim to be, "the Holy Mother Church"
Scripture/Christianity:
Jesus commanded us to follow Him and Him alone. There are hundreds of verses in the New Testament, many more in the Old Testament, which clearly state that Jesus wants us to follow Him and only Him, and that people who were believers did just that. Not one time did Jesus stop anyone who genuinely wanted to or followed Him. No mention is ever made of any future "popes" who demand people follow them at all, ever. Here are just some of those verses.
(Matthew 4:19)And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
(Matthew 4:20)
And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
(Matthew 4:22)
And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
(Matthew 4:25)
And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
(Matthew 8:1)
When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
(Matthew 8:22-23)
But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead. And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
(Matthew 9:9)
And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
(Matthew 16:24)
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
(Matthew 19:21)
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
(Mark 2:14)
And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
(Mark 8:34)
And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
(Mark 10:21)
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
(Luke 5:27)
And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me.
(Luke 9:23)
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
(Luke 9:59)
And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
(Luke 18:22)
Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
(John 1:43)
The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.
(John 10:27)
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
(John 12:26)
If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
(John 13:36)
Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards.
(John 21:19)
This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.
(John 5:39)
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
(1 Corinthians 11:1-3)
Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
(Philippians 3:17)
Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
(1 Thessalonians 1:6)
And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:
(1 Peter 2:21)
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
(Revelation 14:4)
These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
FOLLOW GODLY MEN WHO FOLLOW GOD
When two people or more walk single file down a path, they are following the leader. This is not the same as following Christ, who asks us to give up our entire lives to follow Him, not just walk down to the river or the store or to "Grandmother's House"!
Following godly men who only follow Christ and His teaching means suffering, persecution, hardships in this life, and it means being discipled. Following ungodly men who follow themselves and their church is unscriptural and downright evil. Paul and all of the other apostles suffered greatly and bore it willingly, which is why they were examples to follow. But none of them expected the same allegiance to themselves as they did to Christ, as they pointed out that way only to Christ, not to themselves. It is called discipling, still done today.
(1 Corinthians 4:16)
Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
(Philippians 3:17)
Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
(1 Thessalonians 1:6)
And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:
(2 Thessalonians 3:7)
For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
(2 Thessalonians 3:9)
Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
(Hebrews 6:12)
That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
(Hebrews 13:7)
Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
The Bereans
(Acts 17:11)These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
(Galatians 1:8-9)
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Roman Catholic Claim:
The "Ten Commandments" are as the R.C.C. states themScripture/Christianity
(Exodus 34:28)And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
(Deuteronomy 4:13)
And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
(Deuteronomy 10:4)
And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them unto me.
As will be clearly shown here, the commandment not to make graven images and idols is removed, so that they can make statues to "saints", statues to pagan gods, gold crosses, marble and granite angels, etc. without violating their "Ten Commandments" which are not God's Ten Commandments. This removal of the second would be easily detectable if they did not alter the last one by splitting it into two commandments, making one extra to leave it at ten, thereby making it appear unaltered.

The Pope is Infallible When He Speaks Ex Cathedra
Scripture/Christianity
All men are liars, sinners, no exceptions
(Romans 3:4)
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
(Romans 3:23)
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
(Romans 5:8)
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
(Jeremiah 17:9)
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
THE PROBLEM OF PETER
Roman Catholic Claim
The Pope is the head of the Church, in unbroken succession from Peter
Scripture/Christianity
Jesus Christ is the ONLY Head of the body of Christ, the Church
It must be noted that, if Peter were ever a pope at all, both he and Jesus would have certainly told us such an important thing if Jesus wanted us to follow Peter and not Himself, the LORD.
(1 Peter 2:6-7)
Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, (Matthew 21:42)
Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
(Acts 4:10-11)
Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
(Ephesians 1:20-22)
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
(1 Corinthians 3:11)
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
(Colossians 1:18)
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
The Strange Case of Peter "The Rock" and Satan
(Matthew 16:13-21)When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Knowing that the context of any one word or verse of Scripture determines its meaning, we can see an opportunity to both take a verse out of its context and deliberately misinterpret it for personal gain here"
- Jesus asks the disciples if the people know who He is
- They say what the people say he is, not what they believe
- Jesus then asks it again, directing the question this time to them, not the people
- Peter speaks up, saying Jesus is the Messiah
- Jesus takes this confession and says that this confession of who He is is going to be the foundation of the Church
- The entire context of Scripture demands this meaning for the verse
- The R.C.C. takes the verse out of context and uses it to say Peter is the rock (he is called a stone, not a rock)upon which the church would be built, replacing Jesus.
- This is why the popes have always called themselves the "vicar" of Christ, which means replacement
- The Scriptures call any vicar an antichrist, as in the popes
- Minutes later, Jesus severely rebukes out Peter, saying, "Get thee behind me Satan"!, the worst rebuke He is recorded calling anyone, above the Pharisees and Sadducees
God is THE TRUE ROCK
"Proof is all there just look at the succession of popes leading back to Peter it's on record.. "
- (Exodus 17:6)
Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. - (Exodus 33:21)

The Rock of Living Waters

(Numbers 20:8)
Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
(Numbers 20:10)
And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

Christ the Rock as Foundational to the House of God
(Matthew 7:24-25)Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
(Luke 6:48)
He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

(2 Thessalonians 2:3)
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

No other apostle looked at Peter as the head of anything(Luke 22:24-26)
¶ And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest. And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. This hardly represents any R.C.C. official, certainly not the pope, who lives in luxury in a massive palace, hundreds of servants, surrounded by high walls, collecting money from every corner of the world.
Scripture/Christianity
Peter's Name Cephas means "Stone", not "Rock"(John 1:42)
And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
Peter HIMSELF Called Jesus the Rock Upon Which the Church Was Founded
Not only that, but Peter also called us Christians "lively stones".(1 Peter 2:3-8)
If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
(1 Corinthians 10:1)
Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
As did the Apostle Paul
(Ephesians 1:20-22)
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Jesus Rebuked Peter for his unbelief of God's Plan and rejection of the death of the Messiah(Matthew 16:23)
But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
(Mark 8:33)
But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.
Peter: No Evidence He Was Ever Even In Rome
From all of church recorded history and archaeology, there is not one indication that Peter was ever in Rome, and recorded history does say that he was killed, being crucified upside down........in JERUSALEM.
(1 Peter 5:13)The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.
Galatians 1:18)
Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.
Roman Catholic Claim:
Peter is Pope because Jesus gave him the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven(Matthew 16:19)
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
This verse is wrested from Scripture out of its context, twisted and tortured in order to make the case that Peter was a pope.
God also gave the keys to the kingdom to Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:(Isaiah 22:20-22)
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah: And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
Scripture/Christianity
(Matthew 18:18)Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Here we see that the exact same powers were given to the other apostles...
(Revelation 1:18)I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Here we see that Jesus has the keys, not Peter. Jesus Christ living in the believers makes them also have the keys to the Kingdom, as we are given the Gospel to preach to the lost is all that it means, nothing more.
Paul Rebuked Peter Openly, Personally
(Galatians 2:11-17)But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
Paul ever Mentions Peter In Romans Salutation
(Romans 16:1)I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also. Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.
Greet Mary, who bestowed much labour on us. Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me. Greet Amplias my beloved in the Lord. Salute Urbane, our helper in Christ, and Stachys my beloved. Salute Apelles approved in Christ.
Salute them which are of Aristobulus' household. Salute Herodion my kinsman. Greet them that be of the household of Narcissus, which are in the Lord. Salute Tryphena and Tryphosa, who labour in the Lord. Salute the beloved Persis, which laboured much in the Lord. Salute Rufus chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine. Salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren which are with them. Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints which are with them. Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you.
About thirty parties, as in individuals and groups...and NO MENTION OF THE IMAGINED "POPE" PETER!
In fact, if one was "of Peter the Pope", then Paul said they also "were of Paul, the pope". In fact, in Galatians 2:9, it would seem that James and John were also "popes" as Paul called them "pillars" of the Church as well as Peter (Cephas).
(Galatians 2:9)And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.
(1 Corinthians 1:12)
Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
(1 Corinthians 3:22)
Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
(1 Corinthians 9:5)
Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
Here we see Peter listed in second place and third place...not preeminent, not a pope. Today with the arrogance and intense pride of the popes, this would never happen! Peter was a man. In 1 Corinthians chapter nine and verse five, Paul even lists the apostles, then the brethren, then Peter dead last! This is a pope?
Peter Was a Married Man
(1 Corinthians 9:5)
Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
(Matthew 8:14)
And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.
(Mark 1:30)
But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.
(Luke 4:38)
And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
Peter Lorded Over No One
(1 Peter 5:1-4)The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
The REAL Popes
History shows a complete confusion of the list of Popes, each contradicting the other. The fact is, the Roman Catholic Religion started under Constantine, as he needed to get the Christians on his side for war, so he formed an institutional, formal, governmental religious system, the Roman Catholic Church.
(1 Peter 5:1)
The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
Paul told people three times to follow him as he followed Christ, not Peter
(1 Corinthians 4:16)
Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
(1 Corinthians 11:1)
Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
(Philippians 3:17)
Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
THE PROBLEM OF MARY
Roman Catholic Claim
Mary was/is "The Mother of God". They pray "Holy Mary, Mother of God"Scripture/Christianity
God does not have a mother, and this is blatant blasphemy, rank heresy, as God is eternal and created all things, including Mary. Mary was the mother of Jesus Christ the man only, and the one who merely carried Him in her womb is all, as a vessel. She died like any other person. She is not even recorded at His Crucifixion, Resurrection!(Genesis 1:1)
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
(Exodus 3:14)
And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
(Psalms 41:13)
Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
(Psalms 93:2)
Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.
(Micah 5:2)
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
(Habakkuk 1:12)
Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.
(Luke 1:47-48)
And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
From a friend: "Mary was indeed a vessel used by the Creator. The phrase “full of grace” is used twice in the Bible. Once to describe Jesus, and the other to describe Stephen. But Mary is never described as “full of grace” in scripture, nor does it mean “sinless.”
Only sinners need a Savior. Mary needed a Savior.
All are sinners. She had a Saviour, just like us. She said so. (Luke 1:46-48) And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. (John 2:4) Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. Her command to us then as now is, "Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it." Whatsoever Jesus my Son saith unto you, do it, Not what I say, what He says. (Romans 3:23) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Luke 1:40)
And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.
(Luke 1:41)
And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
(Luke 1:42)
And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
(Luke 1:43-49)
And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.
- Mary was blessed, just like all believers are blessed, and being blessed is not "being the LORD"
- She was blessed for believing in the LORD Jesus Christ, just like all believers are blessed, and being blessed is not "being the LORD"
- Mary's soul magnified THE LORD, not herself, and therefore she cannot be the LORD
- God is Mary's Saviour, therefore she cannot be the LORD
- Mary was not from everlasting, eternity, she was created, born into this world, therefore she cannot be the LORD
- She was in a lowly estate, therefore she cannot be the LORD
- She called the LORD mighty for doing great things, therefore she cannot be the LORD
- She said that the LORD was Holy, therefore she cannot be the LORD
The End of the Catholic "Mary Mother of God"

(Revelation 18:23)
And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
(Revelation 18:24)
And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
Roman Catholic Claim
Mary was/is a perpetual virgin(Genesis 3:1) Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. When you cannot substantiate your belief from God's Word, you have your own interpretation, your own religion and, in your case, your own cult.
- The serpent: "yea, hath God said that Mary was a virgin who later had other children?"
- The Catholic Church "yea, God hath said that Mary had other children, but the popes and my Holy Mother Church say no, so I must believe them"
- "The Bible never said Mary had other children, because God knew that one day the R.C.C. would come, and whatever we say you must live by, because we are above Scripture and will tell you what it means, and you need that"
- So the whole entire R.C.C believed all that the popes said on every doctrine...
"HAIL MARY"
Hail Mary,Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.
(Matthew 6:7)
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
(Matthew 6:8)
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
(Luke 1:28-33)
And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
- To "Hail" means to greet (a salutation) or to wish one good health
- "Full of Grace" is anyone saved, getting grace through Jesus Christ ONLY
- "The LORD is with thee"........the LORD is with me also, so? God was and is with so many in Scripture from Genesis on
- Blessed art thou among women...any woman saved is blessed, she was merely more blessed because she was a vessel to give birth to a man who is the Messiah. Leah and Rachel were blessed by having the twelve tribes of Israel, on earth still today and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus......yes He is blessed and the One who blesses us!
- "Holy Mary" is not in the text and we are declared holy ONLY be believing ONLY in Jesus Christ, not Mary. This is blasphemy and heresy of the worst sort.
- "Mother of God"..............God is eternal and has no mother. Mary was the mother of the man Jesus, not Jesus, Creator of the universe (and the creator of Mary)
- Pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of death........she cannot pray for us, as she is not our mediatrix or mediator, only Jesus Christ is
HAIL, n. A wish of health; a salutation. This word is sometimes used as a noun; as, the angel hail bestowed.

Mary: Virgin only until Jesus born, had other children(Matthew 1:25)
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
(Matthew 12:46-47)
While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
(Mark 3:31-32)
There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
(Luke 8:20)
And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.
(Acts 1:14)
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
(Galatians 1:19)
But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.

Mary was a sinner, earthly, and had nothing to do with salvation(John 14:6)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
(John 2:4-5)
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
(Galatians 3:19)
Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
(Galatians 3:20)
Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
(1 Timothy 2:5)
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
(Hebrews 8:6)
But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
(Hebrews 9:15)
And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
(Hebrews 12:24)
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
(Acts 4:12)
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
(Matthew 27:50)
Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
(Mark 15:38)
And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.
(Luke 23:45)
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
The rending of the veil of the temple in two from top to bottom means that God was now not going to need, heed, listen to any representatives as mediators between Himself and His children, like He did in the Old Testament/old Covenant. This veil being torn in two means direct access by anyone saved to the throne of the Father via Jesus Christ only.

Baptism is for infants, is done by sprinkling, and a sacrament that is part of our salvation
Scripture/Christianity
Baptism is by immersion and is a sign of being saved already, after salvation only. Not one single baby was "baptized" by sprinkling water on their head in all of Scripture. Baptism represents the death, burial and resurrection of the LORD Jesus Christ and one must believe first to be baptized, and sprinkling or pouring water on a babies head does not even come close to representing this. Only going under the water and coming back up out of the water does. Jesus Himself was never baptized as an infant, but as an example to us, as an adult by John the Baptist. Sprinkling babies in infant "baptism" makes them wet and indoctrinates them into the Roman Catholic religion, not saved.(Acts 8:35-39)
Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
(Romans 6:3-6)
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
(Matthew 3:13-16)
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
To top things off, the thief on the cross was never baptized...
(Luke 23:42-43)
And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Roman Catholic Claim
During each and every mass, Jesus dies again on the cross
This is blasphemy and rank heresy . To even imply in the slightest sense that any man can put Christ back on that Cross is a joke. It also means that a person believes that the Cross did not pay fully for sins, all sins, forever, which God says it did.
Scripture/Christianity
Jesus Christ: died once for all, and the Scriptures repeat this and are quite clear on this, so to suggest otherwise is blasphemy(1 Peter 3:18)
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
(Hebrews 9:12)
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
(Hebrews 9:28)
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
(Hebrews 10:10)
By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
(Hebrews 10:12)
But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
(John 1:29)
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
(Hebrews 10:10)
By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Roman Catholic Claim
Salvation is either through the seven sacraments or (now) universalThe Roman Catholic "Church" teaches salvation by many means, and then add to that other things, for instance:
- Attaining Salvation
- Maintaining Salvation
- Regaining Salvation (when lost)
Scripture/Christianity
Salvation is only by Grace through Faith in Jesus ChristThe word "grace" is in Scripture 160 times, first describing Noah. Grace is unmerited favor, no works involved, and is completely the opposite of works, and the two cannot be combined. We cannot please God with any works until after we are saved. In fact, the more we work to get saved, the more we insult God and slap Him in the face, saying, "Your Son's death is just a start, I will finish this!"
(Romans 11:6)
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
(Ephesians 2:8-9)
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(Titus 3:5)
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
(Acts 15:11)
But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
(Romans 3:20)
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
(Isaiah 64:6)
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Plus a lot of other verses, in context. All verses used by the R.C.C. for "works" "salvation" are taken out of context and the plain ones, in context, deliberately ignored.
Roman Catholic Claim
Assurance of salvation: noneThe R.C.C. teaches that one must work, be a good Catholic, do the sacraments, get last rites, etc. and then, once one is gone from earth, the family, loved ones, friends can hold masses for you and pay indulgences so you will get out of "purgatory", eventually, perhaps if you do these works enough.
Scripture/Christianity
Assurance of salvation is guaranteed (1 John 5:13)These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
(John 10:28-29)
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
Roman Catholic Claim
The Seven Sacraments: Baptism, Eucharist, Penance, Confirmation, Marriage, Holy Orders, Anointing of the Sick; exorcisms, blessings of objects, dedication of churches sacred garments, installation into clerical offices, Roman Missal and eastern rites.
Scripture/Christianity
NOT FOUND- Baptism: For believers only, above the age of understanding the Gospel
- Confirmation: no such thing is found in Scripture-no ceremonies, fancy garb, needing to go to a special service, and such an event saves no one, but rather makes them "An Official Roman Catholic" is all
- Eucharist: no such thing in Scripture, and partaking in communion is only for believers, after self-examination
- Penance: Not found in Scripture, only confession to God of our sins, confessing our faults one to another
- Anointing of the Sick: Anyone who is a believer can anoint anyone, pray for them and it is up to God to heal, not any person on earth. The oil is said to represent strength, but in Scripture it only ever represents the Holy Spirit
- Matrimony: Getting married does not save a single soul on earth and never did. Besides, "priests" and "nuns' then cannot be saved, since they never marry
- Holy Orders: Any bishop, overseer, deacon, elder, "priest" or "nun" is not saved by virtue of their official office, no matter who appoints them. Salvation is by grace through faith, believing in Jesus Christ, not by becoming some sort of "official" in any church
Roman Catholic Claim
"Eucharist "literally" becomes the body of Jesus Christ and does not remain a wafer. During mass the R.C.C. claims that "host" (a wafer god from ancient Babylon) literally becomes the Body of the LORD Jesus Christ
This is literally, genuinely, embarrassingly laughable on its face. I asked a Roman Catholic one time, "Exactly at what point does the "host" stop being Jesus? On your tongue? In the esophagus? Stomach acid? Intestines? Digested and into the blood stream? In the toilet, drain, sewer treatment plant, in the ground, in the ocean? Yeah, few even think this through.
Scripture/Christianity
(Luke 22:19)And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Jesus did not become a piece of bread, and especially did not become a small, thin wafer! The broken bread was to symbolize his broken body, so we would remember what He did for us on the Cross. This is a perfect example of not reading the text, but reading into it for personal and corporate reasons. If Jesus literally meant that this was literally His body and blood, then he also is a door, a literal lion, a light, a shepherd, etc.
(Genesis 9:4)
But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
(Leviticus 3:17)
It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.
(Leviticus 7:26-27)
Moreover ye shall eat no manner of blood, whether it be of fowl or of beast, in any of your dwellings. Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
(Leviticus 17:14)
For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.
(Deuteronomy 12:16)
Only ye shall not eat the blood; ye shall pour it upon the earth as water.
(Deuteronomy 12:23)
Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh.
(Ezekiel 33:25)
Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?
(Acts 15:29)
That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
Roman Catholic Claim
"First Holy Communion"; prerequisite is baptism as infant, classes required, no salvation needed
Scripture/Christianity
Communion: For born-again believers only, bread and wine (fermented grape juice, not actual wine like the R.C.C. serves today) as a remembrance of the LORD'S Supper, does not save
Roman Catholic Claim
Penance/Confession: An R.C.C. official sacrament for salvation, to be administered only through an R.C.C. priest or higher, and is a way to reestablish to right relationship with God and the sinner who has strayed, and is claimed to be necessary for salvation if a person was baptized as a baby and has since "fallen away" from God (meaning fallen away from the R.C.C.)
The procedure goes like this:
- One gets a greeting from the priest
- The priest reads from the Bible
- The priest then urges, exhorts the sinner to repentance
- The sinner confesses their sin to the priest
- The priest accepts the confession, repentance and penance, through "absolution", absolving them of their sin
- They pray a "prayer of thanksgiving"
- Tge emphasis here is on our works, not grace, not faith, not the Cross, not Jesus Christ or His death
Scripture/Christianity
Penance/Confession: One to another, or straight (unmediated) to God, Our Debt is PAID IN FULL. this is because of the finished work of the Cross, the burial and resurrection of the LORD Jesus Christ and belief in Him that we are forgiven, not our works.(Psalms 32:5)
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
(1 John 1:9-10)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
(James 5:16)
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
(Hebrews 10:19-21)
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God;
(Hebrews 9:12)
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
(Ephesians 1:7)
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Roman Catholic Claim
Priesthood: Sacrament, ordained by God/R.C.C.
The R.C.C. makes the claim that only certain men, sent to Catholic seminary and ordained by only the R.C.C. are true priests who represent the "Mother Church" and therefore God Himself on earth.
Scripture/Christianity
Priesthood: Ordained by God for all believersThe Scriptures clearly teach that all men who are saved are already priests, no official ceremonies or titles are needed.
(1 Peter 2:5)
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
(1 Peter 2:9)
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
(Revelation 1:6)
And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
(Revelation 5:10)
And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
In every verse, God is speaking to all true believers in Jesus Christ, born-again Christians, and in no way is referencing a special class of men.

Anointing of the Sick:
Scripture/Christianity
Anointing of the Sick: (Acts 3-ALL)Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
And all the people saw him walking and praising God: And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering. And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.
But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Scripture/Christianity
Idolatry Forbidden (1 Corinthians 10:7-10)Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
(Exodus 20:4)
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.

(1 Corinthians 8:1-13)
Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. But if any man love God, the same is known of him. As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak. For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols; And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ. Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
To understand the context of verse 4, the entire chapter and the rest of the entirety of Scripture must be taken. So what does 1 Corinthians 8 really say, from the context?
- People think they are smart when they have worldly knowledge
- This is nothing, they know nothing, and all true knowledge only comes from God, worldly wisdom is nothing compared to wisdom from God
- The idol is nothing, absolutely, because it is an immaterial, inanimate object
- We are not called to worship something that "is nothing"
- it is the enemy, satan, who has the power to deceive and use that immaterial, inanimate object to get worship for himself, a goal he has always had, since the garden (Luke 4)
- There are many idols to worship in this world and in the spiritual realm
- There is only one true God who we are to follow, who makes the rules
- The difference is that God is the One and Only Creator; all else is the created things
- People ignorantly eat things offered to idols, and practice idolatry due to spiritual blindness
- This is because they have no real conscience, the Holy Spirit is not in them to guide them into all truth, and they are spiritually weak, rendering them defenseless against the enemy, who is smarter and more subtle, who is the expert in deception
- The food itself is nothing but food, even sacrificed to idols, though they may think that it is something special
- The sacrificed food does absolutely nothing to gain God's favor, as it is idolatry, which He hates
- The eating of the meat does not anger God, it is the eating of the meat which came from idolatry itself that angers God.
- Otherwise, no one could eat any meat if God was not pleased with meat.
- However, this idolatry is a stumblingblock to the weaker people who do not understand Christianity, see you eating it and will not follow Jesus now, not because they are not hungry, but because they are now confused that you claim to be a Christian, but practice that which is against Christ, because they are weak.
- They will, however, see you justifying this idolatry by doing it and think that it is OK to do themselves.
- He will decide he does not need Christ, perish, go to hell and you will be the stumblingblock that caused this, this idolatry
- You sin against them, and you sin against God, the LORD Jesus Christ
- If the meat is sacrificed to idols, we are not to eat it so as to not let this happen
- Yes, the idol is nothing to God............but the idolatry is sin, wickedness, hell bound rebellion, evil is everything He hates...
And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Exodus 20:4-6
You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my Commandments.
(Leviticus 26:1)
Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
(Isaiah 44:19)
And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?

Repetitious Prayers: ForbiddenRoman Catholic Claim:
PurgatoryFrom an R.C.C. web site:
"The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines purgatory as a "purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven," which is experienced by those "who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified" (CCC 1030). It notes that "this final purification of the elect . . . is entirely different from the punishment of the damned" (CCC 1031). The purification is necessary because, as Scripture teaches, nothing unclean will enter the presence of God in heaven (Rev. 21:27) and, while we may die with our mortal sins forgiven, there can still be many impurities in us, specifically venial sins and the temporal punishment due to sins already forgiven." There are a ton of problems with this pagan belief or pagan origins:
- The word "purgatory" is a made up word of the R.C.C and appears not in a SINGLE place, and is not even hinted at in Scripture, God's Word
- It assumes that we are not completely forgiven by God when accepting Jesus Christ as our LORD and Saviour
- It assumes that we can pay for our own sin ("purge" our sins) in an imaginary place
- It assumes that there are two types of sin, mortal and venial, which is 100% false
- It takes money as indulgences for the priest to pray for the "faithfully departed" so that they can "get out of purgatory", a most cruel practice to foist on unsuspecting people
- Neither you, nor anyone else on earth can pay for your sins, only the LORD Jesus Christ Who already did pay for all of them
- You either go straight to Heaven or straight to hell-your choice. There is no "limbo"
- You cannot pray for the dead or to the dead, that is necromancy, and forbidden by God's Word
- You cannot pay for your dead, either, nor for your sins, nor anyone else's
By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Top 10 Questions Every Catholic Must Know and Answer about the Catholic Church
We Catholics are often asked tough questions about our Catholic faith and its relationship to the Bible. Here are the ten most-asked-questions and the answers that should help you satisfy both your questioner and yourself.
1Are your beliefs found in the Bible?
All Catholic beliefs can be found in the Bible in some form, whether plainly or by an indirect indication. It is not necessary for everything to be absolutely clear in Scripture alone, because that is not a teaching of Scripture itself. Scripture also points to an authoritative Church and Tradition, as St. Paul says in his Second Letter to the Thessalonians: “Stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter” (2 Thess 2:15 – see also 1 Cor 11:2, 2 Thess 3:6; 2 Tim (1:13-14; 2:2). When the first Christians had a significant disagreement, they didn’t simply open their Bibles (which didn’t even exist at that point) to decide who was right; they held a council, which made binding decrees (Acts 15:1-29). The very books of the Bible had to be determined by the Church and that didn’t happen until the late fourth century. Therefore, Sacred Tradition and authority were necessary for us to even have a Bible today.
2Why do you obey the Pope?
Catholics believe that Jesus commissioned St. Peter as the first leader of the Church. Matthew’s Gospel has the most direct biblical indication of the papacy: “And I tell you, you are Peter (meaning literally “Rock”) and on this rock I will build my church … I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven” (Mt 16:18-19). Based on this statement of Jesus himself, Peter is clearly portrayed in the New Testament as the leader of the disciples. A pope can make infallible, binding pronouncements under certain conditions. Infallibility doesn’t mean that absolutely everything a pope says is free from error. All Christians believe that God protected Holy Scripture from error by means of inspiration, even though sinful, fallible men wrote it. We Catholics also believe that God the Holy Spirit protects His Church and its head from error (Jn 14:16) by means of infallibility, even though sinful, imperfect men are involved in it.
3. Why do you call your priest “Father”?
“And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven” (Mt 23:9). In this passage, Jesus is teaching that God the Father alone is ultimately the source of all authority. But He is not speaking absolutely, because if so, that would eliminate even biological fathers, the title “Church Fathers”, the founding fathers of a country or organization and so on. Jesus himself uses the term “father” in Matthew (15:4-5; 19:5, 19, 29; 21:31), John (8:56) and several other places. In the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus, Jesus actually presents Lazarus as using the address “Father Abraham” twice (Lk 16:24, 30 – see also Acts 7:2; Rom 4:12; Jas 2:21). St. Paul also uses the term when he writes, “I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel (1 Cor 4:15 – see also 1 Cor 4:14-16) and refers to “our forefather Isaac” (Rom 9:10). 4. Why do you pray for the dead? The Bible clearly teaches the rightness of prayers for the dead in 2 Maccabees (12:40, 42, 44-45): “Then under the tunic of every one of the dead they found sacred tokens of the idols of Jamnia, which the law forbids Jews to wear. And it became clear to all that this was why these men had fallen … And they turned to prayer, beseeching that the sin which had been committed might be wholly blotted out … For if he were not expecting that those who had fallen would rise againn, it would have been superfluous and foolish to pray for the dead …He made atonement for the dead, that they might be delivered from their sin.” St. Paul teaches this in a similar way: “Otherwise, what do people mean by being baptized on behalf of the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized on their behalf?” (1 Cor 15:29). This indicates prayer and fasting for the dead. The word baptism often symbolically refers to penances (Mk 10:38-39; Lk 3:16, 12:50). The apostle Paul also appears to be praying for a dead person, Onesiphorus, in 2 Timothy (1:16-18). 5 Why do you pray to idols (statues)? No Catholic who knows anything about the Catholic faith has ever worshiped a statue (as in pagan idolatry). If we cherish the memory of mere political heroes with statues and that of war heroes with monuments, then there can be no objection to honoring saints and righteous men and women: “Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor” (1 Pet 2:17 – see also Rom 12:10; Heb 12:22-23). Statues are simply a visual reminder of great saints and heroes of the faith (Heb 11), who are more alive than we are (2 Cor 3:18), as is evident by their praying: “O Sovereign Lord … how long before thou wilt judge and aveng
