Refuting the Flat Earth Nonsense

FLAT EARTH? REALLY

(Isaiah 40:22)
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

In the last few years, the Church has been rocked by a heresy so far fetched, so illogical, so rabid even, that it comes close to the anti-Christ conspiracy to deceive the entire world, only it is not getting as much traction as that will. It seems, for now, to be based upon two a priori arguments, namely:

That the history of the ancient world as well as the last 2,000 years shows quite clearly and succinctly that scientists and Christians believed in a a flat earth.

The empty claim that the Church always believed this, and that only recently was this rejected fo a globe earth

A claim of a massive, worldwide, (apparently unanimous) conspiracy to hide the flat earth shape from the world, deceiving 7,000,000,000 people, on the order of the book of Revelation's anti-Christ conspiracy, by N.A.S.A. and all other country space agencies, together, in unison, for a long time.

The fact is that this "modern" movement (the really only one in Christianity) started in the 19th century, not to mention the fact that the verses "used" (misused) were never "used" (misused) until that time by people in the church, either. The usage of these verses, taken completely out of context and misinterpreted to fit a pet doctrine, were done primarily by the skeptics, agnostics and atheists to disprove the Scriptures-not confirm them- the last people anyone wants to see argue any biblical doctrine! Calculations by great men showed that the earth was a globe and not flat, and this was repeated by various experiments throughout recorded history. The ancient Greeks and others used math, trigonometry and geometry, coupled with measuring instruments in various, repeated tests which any one of us can easily and simply do today, to prove that the earth is a globe and not flat.

Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

(Luke 17:34-36)
I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

In these verses, Jesus Himself speaks here of a spherical earth, where it is night time and dark in one place, while it is the daylight, with people working, in another area of that same exact earth.

THE "EVIDENCE"

The main and really the only few "evidences" ever given by flat earthers are:

Visions, God speaking to them, and reliance on extra-biblical sources, ie. "the book of Enoch" (and giving it much weight, never afforded it by the translators), and "the original Hebrew" and "the original Greek"
"The church" has hidden the "fact" that the church has, from early days in her history, and herself believed in a flat earth, it is just that it was denied, conspired against by too many in order to deceive, even though the fact is that The Flat Earth Society was revived in 2004 by an atheist named Daniel Shenton and others
"Gravity does not exist, it is density that makes things fall!"
All space travel and moon landings have been faked, as well as all photos of earth, the moon and any other spherical body in space, plus all videos of anything in space,
We never landed on the moon, as this was a conspiracy to get billions of dollars for a space program
There is no "Antarctica", but rather Antarctica is really an ice wall surrounding the edge of the flat earth, manned 24/7/365 by powerful military people, no one can visit close to see this wall, and few have ever tried, and any that get too close were again murdered and somehow it was all hushed up (conspiracy again), and this obviously has been the case for six thousand years, that military of unknown origin, never filmed, never approached, has apparently been there. Apparently this security team has been there non-stop for 6,000 years straight, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!
Lastly, the use of foreign, dead languages like Hebrew and Greek, no longer the same, being replaced in Hebrew with modern Hebrew and Yiddish, Koine Greek no longer being spoken in Greece and having been replaced by Classical Greek. As with all heresy, those who hold to it do not like the definition of the words that refute their theory in English so, desperately seeking something to bolster their position, they grasp. They must resort to these foreign, dead languages which no one today speaks to get "clarity" on the words like "circle" and others. Why? The English Bible refutes their pet doctrine of a flat earth, and they will not acknowledge it!

The word "planet" does not appear in Scripture...not kidding, this is used as evidence of a flat earth (Except being named after the Greek Gods Mars (Acts 17:22), Jupiter (Acts 14:12) and Mercury (Acts 14:12). Yep.)

And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.

The Christians and the world have always had many people who believed in a flat earth
The entire group of astronauts, pilots, map and globe makers, navigators, seamen, scientists, governments, every soldier in every army of all nations, every explorer and traveler and all others involved in seeing the shape of the earth are conspiring to hide the idea that the earth is flat on top, perhaps filled like a bowl of dirt, or like a disk.

SOME DEFINITIONS

A hallmark of all who are in error is not letting the Scriptures tell them what they mean, as in reading them, but rather reading into them, telling the Scriptures what they mean. When there are several definitions in an English dictionary, they must then pick the obscure ones that do not fit the context, but rather only fit their pet doctrine. These handpicked, cherry picked definitions are to them, in fact, the only definitions that fit, even if the context demands otherwise. Then, failing that, for "extra clarity", when a verse says something that does not fit a pet doctrine, no matter the doctrine, nearly all of the time, a heretick will, in utter desperation, resort to "in the original language" or "in the Hebrew" or "in the Greek", which is a meaningless stretch to say the least, since we have the Word of God in English, and simple, every day things called dictionaries. When one believes that God actually knows how to communicate, then they do not need to waste their time on dead languages that they do not understand. It is always good to give definitions when discussing a subject with people in error, because, like cults and all hereticks, they change definitions like people change socks in an effort to dodge facts and reality.

SCIENCE

SCI'ENCE, n. [L. scientia, from scio, to know.]

In a general sense, knowledge, or certain knowledge; the comprehension or understanding of truth or facts by the mind. The science of God must be perfect.
In philosophy, a collection of the general principles or leading truths relating to any subject. Pure science, as the mathematics, is built on self-evident truths; but the term science is also applied to other subjects founded on generally acknowledged truths, as metaphysics; or on experiment and observation, as chimistry and natural philosophy; or even to an assemblage of the general principles of an art, as the science of agriculture; the science of navigation. Arts relate to practice, as painting and sculpture.
A principle in science is a rule in art.
Art derived from precepts or built on principles. Science perfects genius.
Any art or species of knowledge.
No science doth make known the first principles on which it buildeth.
One of the seven liberal branches of knowledge, viz grammar, logic, rhetoric, arithmetic, geometry, astronomy and music. [Note - Authors have not always been careful to use the terms art and science with due discrimination and precision. Music is an art as well as a science. In general, an art is that which depends on practice or performance, and science that which depends on abstract or speculative principles. The theory of music is a science; the practice of it an art.]

Science is not theories, conspiracy theories, postulates, guesses, estimations and the like. Can scientists do these? Yes, to then use real science. And historical science is used to study history, which is also unrepeatable. Science is practiced by discovering what is really happening using our five senses of taste, smell, sight, touch and hearing. It is something anyone with senses can do. You practice science seeing if you like a new food at a new restaurant, by first smelling the aroma and then tasting it. The presentation of the food, the beauty of the scene is what we use our sight for. The atmosphere can be tested and listening and the comfort of the table, seating, floors utensils, plates, glasses can be tested with the sense of touch

Real science is F.O.R.T. science, for empirical data on any theory:

On top of this, both FEers and evolutionist alike always confuse claims with empirical evidence. A claim is not evidence either way until it is either falsified or verified, it merely remains a claim, and claims are for insurance adjusters, not people proCLAIMing facts when there are none. I can claim the earth is on the back of a Harley Davidson or in the shape of a pyramid, but that does not make it so. I can then use F.O.R.T. science to test my claim. That is, doing real science but, until I do, it is my claim only. The fact is that there are about fifteen blocks worth of outdated science books in the Louvre library in France, all filled with ideas once considered "Science" or 'absolute truth".

William R. Fix puts it this way:

"...evidence is only evidence when it is perceived as evidence."

He continues....

"Indeed, it is fascinating how the perspectives of science keep changing. Repeatedly entire patterns of evidence have been overlooked or misinterpreted, and then when such patterns are properly taken into account, a completely different interpretation emerges. The idea of rocks falling from the sky was profoundly upsetting for eighteenth-century scientists because it challenged their belief in the stability of nature. EMBRYOLOGISTS STILL DISAGREE ON THE IDEA OF "ONTOGENY RECAPITULATES PHYLOGENY".

AND ON AND ON IT GOES....

XI. HOW IS FLAT EARTH "SCIENCE" REALLY PRACTICED?

The procedure goes something like this:

Come up with a theory, ie. make the claim that the earth is flat
"Check" the facts with the use of FE web sites, or FE-only Youtube videos
Find consolation from your newly found "facts"
Return to step 1 and proceed.

First off, any verse that a FE uses must not say the word "world", which means the systems of government etc. of mankind, but rather the actual word "earth", speaking of a real object. Now we need to define the terms misused by FEers to "prove' a flat earth.

EARTH VS. WORLD

MASS

So mass is a physical property of any physical object which occupies space and gravity is a force that acts upon any physical object. Therefore one cannot confuse the two, nor deny them, in honesty. Something having more mass is more massive, not likely to move in any direction, let alone fall to the earth. Mass makes nothing move at all in any direction. Only a force can do that, which is only gravity. In physics, simple basic, proven, scientific physics, you must have a force to move an object, because a property is not a force and does not move things.

Because FEers like to think that the earth is like a flat disk with a round dome over it and, this dome is their idea of "the firmament" spoken of throughout Scripture, let's define the word "firmament" from an English dictionary, just to be sure. Show me the definition which speaks of the shape of the earth here:

FIRMAMENT

FIRMAMENT, n. ferm'ament. [L. firmamentum, from firmus, firmo.]
The region of the air; the sky or heavens. In scripture, the word denotes an expanse, a wide extent; for such is the signification of the Hebrew word, coinciding with regio, region, and reach. The original therefore does not convey the sense of solidity, but of stretching, extension; the great arch or expanse over our heads, in which are placed the atmosphere and the clouds, and in which the stars appear to be placed, and are really seen.
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. Gen 1:6. And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament. Ibum. 1:14.

COMPASS

COMPASS, n.

Stretch; reach; extent; the limit or boundary of a space, and the space included; applied to time, space, sound, etc. Our knowledge lies within a very narrow compass. The universe extends beyond the compass of our thoughts. So we say, the compass of a year, the compass of an empire, the compass of reason, the compass of the voice. And in that compass all the world contains.
A passing round; a circular course; a circuit.
Time is come round;
and where I did begin, thee shall I end:
My life has run its compass.
They fetched a compass of seven days journey. 2 Ki 3. 2 Sam 5. Acts 28.
Moderate bounds; limits of truth; moderation; due limits.
In two hundred years, (I speak within compass,) no such commission had been executed. This sense is the same as the first, and the peculiar force of the phrase lies in the word within.
The extent or limit of the voice or of sound.
An instrument for directing or ascertaining the course of ships at sea, consisting of a circular box, containing a paper card marked with the thirty two points of direction, fixed on a magnetic needle, that always points to the north, the variation excepted. The needle with the card turns on a pin in the center of the box. Compass or compasses, [or a pair of compasses, so named from its legs, but pair is superfluous or improper, and the singular number compass is the preferable name,] an instrument for describing circles, measuring figures, etc., consisting of two pointed legs or branches, made of iron, steel or brass, joined at the top by a rivet, on which they move. There are also compasses of three legs or triangular compasses, cylindrical and spherical compasses with four branches, and various other kinds.
An instrument used in surveying land, constructed in the main like the mariners compass; but with this difference, that the needle is not fitted into the card, moving with it, but plays alone; the card being drawn on the bottom of the box, and a circle divided into 360 degrees on the limb. This instrument is used in surveying land, and in directing travelers in a desert or forest, miners, etc.
Compass-saw, a saw with a brad edge and thin back, to cut in a circular form.

So, for each usage of "compass" in Scripture, every one used as a verb signifies circular motion around some object such as a person, an army, city, etc.

It is prudent also to look at the definition of the word "circle", as used in Isaiah 40:22 to describe our earth:

CIRCLE

CIRCLE, n. an orb, the earth

In geometry, a plane figure comprehended by a single curve line, called its circumference, every part of which is equally distant from a point called the center. Of course all lines drawn from the center to the circumference or periphery, are equal to each other.
In popular use, the line that comprehends the figure, the plane or surface comprehended, and the whole body or solid matter of a round substance, are denominated a circle; a ring; an orb; the earth.
Compass; circuit; as the circle of the forest.
An assembly surrounding the principal person. Hence, any company, or assembly; as a circle of friends, or of beauties. Hence the word came to signify indefinitely a number of persons of a particular character, whether associated or not; as a political circle; the circle of ones acquaintance; having however reference to a primary association.

Circles of altitude or almucantars, are circles parallel to the horizon, having their common pole in the zenith, and diminishing as they approach the zenith.
Circles of latitude, are great circles perpendicular to the plane of the ecliptic, passing through its poles and through every star and planet.
Circles of longitude, are lesser circles parallel to the ecliptic, diminishing as they recede from it.
Circle of perpetual apparition, one of the lesser circles, parallel to the equator, described by any point of the sphere touching the northern point of the horizon, and carried about with the diurnal motion. The stars within this circle never set.
Circle of perpetual occultation, another lesser circle at a like distance from the equator, which includes all the stars which never appear in our hemisphere.
Diurnal circles, are immovable circles supposed to be described by the several stars and other points in the heavens, in their diurnal rotation round the earth, or rather in the rotation of the earth round its axis.
Horary circles, in dialing, are the lines which show the hours on dials.
Circles of the empire, the provinces or principalities of the German empire, which have a right to be present at the diets. Maximilian I. divided the empire into six circles at first, and afterwards into ten; Austria, Burgundy, Lower Rhine, Bavaria, Upper Saxony, Franconia, Swabia, Upper Rhine, Westphalia, and Lower Saxony.
Druidical circles, in British Topography, are certain ancient inclosures formed by rude stones circularly arranged; as Stone-henge near Salisbury.

In fact, the "circle", if it were flat, would merely be actually two circles, separated by a rectangle!

Side view

HORIZON

HOR'IZON, n. [Gr. to bound, a limit.]
The line that terminates the view, when extended on the surface of the earth; or a great circle of the sphere, dividing the world into two parts or hemispheres; the upper hemisphere which is visible, and the lower which is hid. The horizon is sensible,and rational or real. The sensible, apparent, or visible horizon, is a lesser circle of the sphere, which divides the visible part of the sphere from the invisible. It is eastern or western; the eastern is that wherein the sun and stars rise; the western, that wherein they set. The rational, true, or astronomical horizon, is a great circle whose plane passes through the center of the earth, and whose poles are the zenith and nadir. This horizon would bound the sight, if the eye could take in the whole hemisphere.

CIRCUIT

CIRCUIT, n.

The act of moving or passing round; as the periodical circuit of the earth round the sun, or of the moon round the earth.
The space inclosed in a circle, or within certain limits.
Any space or extent measured by traveling round.
That which encircles; a ring; a diadem.
In England, the journey of judges through several counties or boroughs, for the purpose of holding courts. In the United States, the journey of judges through certain states or counties for the same purpose.
The counties or states in which the same judge or judges hold courts and administer justice. It is common to designate a certain number of counties to form a circuit, and to assign one or more judges to each circuit. The courts in the circuits are called circuit courts. In the government of the United States, a certain number of states form a circuit.
A long deduction of reason.
In law, a longer course of proceedings than is necessary to recover the thing sued for. Bailey gives this as the definition of circuity.

CIRCUIT, v.i. To move in a circle; to go round.

CIRCUIT, v.t. To move or go round.

Can you not see the word circuit here showing a flat earth in all its glory? Use your imagination, man! The word implies nothing in the way of "the firmament of the vapor canopy is still there like the Pre-Flood world, as the Bible never says that there was a vapor canopy about the earth before the Flood, or that it is still there. It says the firmament is the space about the earth where the sun, moon, stars are. The Bible never says that the firmament is gone. Which does not follow that the firmament means "a vapor canopy over the earth" at all, since the space where the stars and heavenly bodies are (firmament) still indeed exists.

A PROBLEM

There is only one, single, solitary shape which is always a circle, no matter what angle, what side one views it on, and that is a ball shape.
A flat disk is only round when viewed from directly above, at center or directly below, at center
If you hit the ten ball, the striped ball on a pool table with either side English on it, propelling it forward, as it moves it is always a circle shape. It is the only shape that is a circle from every angle and distance. A disk viewed even slightly off center is not a circle and, from the side is literally a rectangularly shaped object

In another crude video I made, I took a hollow green ball, wrapped a line around it so it can be easier to see the toration and took a series of photos of it spinning (me spinning it by hand for each shot) to show that, no matter how one spins it, it is still a circle, as well the shadow is a circle. If one cannot grasp the shape of the earth is not a disk from the accurately depicting image and video, no one can help them, as this is direct observational science, they can do themselves and also see in the sky as eclipses. It cannot be denied honestly but, sadly is.

FOUNDA'TION, n. [L. fundatio, fundo.]

The basis of an edifice; that part of a building which lies on the ground; usually a wall of stone which supports the edifice.
The act of fixing the basis.
The basis or ground work, or any thing; that on which any thing stands, and by which it is supported. A free government has its foundation in the choice and consent of the people to be governed. Christ is the foundation of the church. Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation, a stone - a precious cornerstone. Isa 28. Other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 3.
Original; rise; as the foundation of the world.
Endowment; a donation or legacy appropriated to support an institution, and constituting a permanent fund, usually for a charitable purpose.
Establishment; settlement.

SOME VERSES USED (MISUSED) TO "PROVE" A FLAT EARTH

One of the hallmarks of intense error is the misuse of Scripture in a desperate attempt to "establish" a false doctrine. Not one single verse of Scripture even implies that the earth is a flat disk, but that never stops heretics. If you notice in these verses taken from a FE web site, not a one of them even implies it, and many simply say zero about the shape of the earth. When you do not have a verse, misuse one.

(2 Peter 3:16)
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

When a verse or verses do not support one's private interpretation (2 Peter 1:20)or pet doctrine, then twisting the meaning of the verse is all that is needed and available. Anyone can do it.

(Job 9:8)
Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

(Job 37:18)
Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?

The spreading out of the sky has nothing to do with the shape of the earth, nor does the strength of it, and certainly not molten glass! Literally has nothing to do with the shape of the earth. In fact, if you wanted to take it literally, it means God is still spreading out the heavens, non stop.

(Job 22:14)
Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.

The cloud cover, the walking in the circuit of heaven have nothing whatsoever to do with the shape of the earth! I can walk a circuit around a 200 acre farm, and that proves nothing about the shape of the earth, only that my farm seems to be 100% flat to me, being so tiny in comparison. Now imagine the ratio of my size to the size of the earth?

(Genesis 1-8:)
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

So not one single verse here even hints at a flat earth, nor mentions, nor hints at, implies any shape for the earth and yet, there it is, being ripped from its context, isogeted (meaning given private meaning injected by the reader, as opposed to exegeted (letting it say what it says plainly in the first sense). The claim is that this account is evidence for a flat earth. Not kidding. In fact, one does show that the earth is round like a sphere, as it says "evening and morning", which happens today on earth in two very distant places at the same time, as in Asia being dark, America still being light and vice versa.

I know that, to a flat earther, an English dictionary which they will use every day for any other definition for every day living, is a death sentence, a curse, something to shun, avoid, disdain when it is used to define actual words in Scripture in the verses they misuse, but they have no problem using it for other, daily purposes. When it is so simple a child can understand it, they resort to ethereal sources like "the Hebrew" (which Hebrew?) or "the Greek" (which Greek?), in total desperation.

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Again, a mention of a firmament, which is outer space, and this is used as evidence for a flat earth with a dome over it. Nice stretch! (Job 9:6)
Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

The same people who want you to believe that the earth does not rotate is shaken out of her place! By the way, the context in the verse and of the verse both demand that using the word "earth" means it is talking about the rocks of the mountains and the rocks that rare the mountains. These pillars are now known by geologists to exist in the center of any mountain. When they snap, as has happened in recorded history, the mountain becomes a nice big pile or rocks. Oh, and again, nothing to do with the shape of the earth, either way.

(Job 26:7)
He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.

And this has what exactly to do with the earth being flat? The earth is in space, outer space. So?

(Job 26:10)
He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.

This refers (to even a simpleton) to be the coasts, the shore line, where the sea ends and can go no further, its boundaries being fixed since the Flood of Noah. Reading into it like it supports a flat earth causes mental disorders, obviously. Just talk to any FEer at length for verification.

(Job 28:24)
For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;

A little context here, because flat earthers hate that. The meaning of any verse or word is determined by the context, not the "interpreter" (ie. FEer) or their need to redefine, reinterpret, twist, torture or change the meaning.

(Zechariah 9:10)
And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.

Again, the lunacy of using this verse to show a flat earth! This has zero to do with the shape of the earth, and is talking about God's judgment shore to shore, obvious even to a small child, yet to an FEer, a "useful", but very desperate attempt at grasping at straws to make up a doctrine that is not there.

He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

God literally gives you what He means by "the ends of the earth... it is the coast, the shore, where the earth stops and the sea starts, plus referring to as "the furthest reach of man's dominion", and also "the furthest reaches of the land", because God concentrated so much of Scripture to Israel, Asia Minor, Europe, North Africa. A little biased are we? How about letting God tell us what it means, instead of misusing the Scriptures to fit your pet doctrine?

THE ENDS OF THE EARTH: FROM SCRIPTURE

(Deuteronomy 33:17)
His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.

God says that Joseph, using his strength given to him by God, will push the tribe to the ends of the earth, that is shore to shore, not "ice wall" to "ice wall". If FEism were true, then these people were then sent to the imaginary "ice wall", with no military there or police, and yet they never told us that the earth about all of that, or that the earth was flat. No mention of a flat earth.

(1 Samuel 2:10)
The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.

Judging "the ends of the earth" is the people, as God is not going to judge an "imaginary ice wall". No mention of a flat earth.

The nation was sent to the edge of the disk, and yet no one stopped them, and they never recorded anything about it. Amazing. No mention of a flat earth.

¶ Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

As shown by the context, God created the boundaries of countries, where people dwell. In this context of the verse, He is talking to Israel (Jacob) about Israel (the nation), not the "imaginary ice wall". God is showing His glory, magnificence and might through His creation, not he shape of the earth, and certainly not showing it is flat. No mention of a flat earth.

(Isaiah 41:5)
The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.

The isles (islands) fearing is not the sand and palm trees, so the context once again is the people, not the shape of the earth. No mention of a flat earth.

(Isaiah 41:9)
Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.

Once again, this passage is speaking of the Gentile nations, not the shape of the earth. No mention of a flat earth.

(Isaiah 43:6)
I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

North and South of Israel, the return of the people of God to their homeland, not the shape of the earth. No mention of a flat earth.

(Isaiah 45:22)
Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

If it is not obvious from this verse that "the ends of the earth is people", I cannot help you, sorry. The "imaginary ice walls' will never look to God to be saved, and God is not talking to them, He is talking to real people with real souls. No mention of a flat earth.

(Isaiah 52:10)
The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

Nations...people...the ends of the earth does not have eyes to see salvation, nor do they need to, people do. No mention of a flat earth.

(Jeremiah 10:13)
When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

God makes weather, as in the known-by-science water cycle, so? Not even the slightest hint of a flat earth, or the shape of the earth. No mention of a flat earth.

(Jeremiah 16:19)
O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.

If the Gentiles live near "the ice wall at the end of the flat earth", why did not one of them say so, ever? They never described it, wanted to go back to it. No mention of a flat earth.

(Jeremiah 25:31)
A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.

Nations...people...the ends of the earth does not have a mouth to argue with God, nor do they need to, people do, nor does God have a controversy with the ice walls, but with the nations (as in people). No mention of a flat earth.

(Jeremiah 51:16)

(Acts 13:47)
For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

Light, Saviour, Messiah, to the Gentiles also, in every place salvation of people, as in the context of the verse. No mention of a flat earth.

(Romans 10:18)
But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

The spreading of the Gospel, to all Gentile nations, that sound and those words are the voice of preaching! And, once again, no mention of a flat earth.

(Daniel 4:11)
The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:

Daniel 4:11 and Daniel 4:20, as usual taken out of context, are used to show that the only way for a tree to be seen on the entire earth is on a flat one.

It is told to Nebuchadnezzar that this tree is him, himself and not a literal tree visible on the entire earth!
It does not even say he is LIKE the tree, but IS the tree!

(Job 38:1-7)

Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Foundation of the earth, the core, bedrock, the layers, the pillars, knowing exactly the size of it

Job 38:13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

Context=judgment of people, and a rebuke of Job. God is telling about His creation before Job was born. No mention of a flat earth.

(Psalm 104:1-3)
Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:

No mention of a flat earth, nor any indication, inference, implication, hint, clue or anything else.

God is very great, clothed in honour and majesty,
God is light. No surprise there. No mention of a flat earth.
God stretched out (and, if taken literally, is still stretching out the heavens. No mention of a flat earth.
Jesus rides upon the clouds in Revelation, so? No mention of a flat earth.
Does the wind literally have wind? Or is this angels, birds? No mention of a flat earth.

(Proverbs 8:27)
When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

As was said earlier, the compass can refer to several things, not one of which can be a flat, disk shape of the earth, as we know there is on a compass a north, south, east and west due to the magnetic field, which is why compasses work in the first place and how navigation with birds, animals and transportation even works at all, and that most accurately. By the way, there is no north, south, east and west on a flat earth! And wherever you are, the immensity of the earth compared to you and your miniscule size make it seem flatter than any face. No mention of a flat shaped earth in this verse

Again, the dictionary definition of "compass":

Compassing and imaging the death of the king are synonymous terms; compass signifying the purpose or design of the mind or will, and not, as in common speech, the carrying such design to effect.

The same people who say that the sun, moon and all stars are just right up there in the firmament, not far from the earth!" would have a hard time literalizing this verse to mean that they are still moving away from us as God stretches the heavens out.

(Isaiah 48:13)
Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.

A verse which shows the enormity of God, and says nothing whatsoever of the shape of the earth.

(Isaiah 66:1)
Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

This verse proves beyond a doubt that the earth is in the shape of an actual footstool, and even says it!

(Ezekiel 1:26)
¶ And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.

This is a firmament in heaven, where God's Throne and the angels dwell, nothing above the earth at all, and says nothing about the shape of the earth, even in the context.

(Amos 9:6)
It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.

No clue at all why this would be said to represent the shape of the earth, the firmament and the earth being flat at all.

(Genesis 1:9-13)
And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day.

The creation of the earthly environment as a preparation for the Creation of mankind , and says nothing about the shape of the earth, even in the context, and certainly nothing about the earth being flat.

1 Samuel 2:8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and he hath set the world upon them.

If one wanted to literalize this verse, this means that the earth is literally sitting on top of pillars, and those pillars are known to be the cores of mountains ("pillars of the earth") and says nothing about the shape of the earth, even in the context. 1 Chronicles 16:30 Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.

Moving from place to another place and rotating in place are two different things. Regardless, even minus any rotation, the shape of the earth is not mentioned here, any shape.

Psalm 18:15 Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

The very context here is judgment, with God blowing water away, as He did with Egypt in the Red Sea, and this shows His might, not the shape of the earth, and certainly not it being flat. Psalm 75:3
The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.

Again, these pillars are the center of all mountains and ranges, proven by geological science. No mention of the shape of the earth, certainly not being flat. If FEers think the earth is supported by actual pillars, remember this. The ancient literally thought it was on the back of elephants and strong men. Psalm 93:1
The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.

Psalm 96:9-11
O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth. Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously. Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.

Context: Righteous Judgment of God, God reigning in a kingdom that cannot be touched, moved. Context does a lot for meaning. Nothing here about the shape of the earth, certainly not a flat earth.

Psalm 102:25
Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

The foundations of the earth, a molten core, bedrock, the crust, mantle, all of which have nothing to do with the shape of the earth, certainly not it being flat

(Psalm 104:5-9)
Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away. They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them. Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

The foundations of the earth, a molten core, bedrock, the crust, mantle, the seas on top of it, covering it, all of which have nothing to do with the shape of the earth, certainly not it being flat

Psalm 136:6
To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.

The earth is sitting on top of the fountains of the deep in every place, unless you want to hyper-literalize this and say that, like the heavens being stretched, so is the earth, and eventually it will be a disk the size of the solar system!

Proverbs 8:27-29 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

Isaiah 11:12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

The four corners....north, south, east and west from any place on earth, so here the north, south, east and west of Israel. Try Isaiah 43:6 below which even tells us two of them, the north and the south, the ends of the earth, the furthest reaches. The Oxford English Dictionary defines "corner" to mean:

An extremity or end of the earth; a region, quarter; a direction or quarter from which the wind blows.

The English word "corner" comes from the Latin root cornu, meaning "horn." When we say "cornucopia", we mean "horn of plenty". In fact, in Webster's 1828, the word definition "corner" says, [See "Horn" and "Grain"]. Another English word related to this is "cornet" (a horn shaped instrument). Thus, the "four corners of the earth" can be interpreted as referring to four directions of our compasses, namely north, south, east and west. So, the "four corners of the earth" can also refer to "the four horns of the earth". An example of such a description of this shape for a land mass is Cape Horn, the southern tip of South America. So the usage of the phrase "four corners of the earth" does not have to signify a planar, rectangular shaped earth. And this is only if one thinks the earth to be a flat square plain. Now think about this one. If "the four corners" refers to a flat square, then Isaiah 40:22 speaking about a circle is incorrect. If Isaiah 40:22 is correct, it cannot be a flat square, but a flat circle. One simply cannot have it both ways.

(Isaiah 43:6)
I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

From far...from the ends of the earth....from far, get it? The focal point, center point, point of origin, to God, is always Israel

(Matthew 4:8-9)
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Talk about your stretches. Since all of the kingdoms of the world from Assyria, Egypt, Babylon, Rome, Greece, to modern day England and Saudi Arabia and into the future of th anti-Christ kingdom were not on the earth (of any shape) at the same time, and claiming that anyone could see them all at once on a flat earth is simply preposterous, ludicrous and foolish. That circle, as defined above from the English dictionary, is a globe, not a flat disk.

In these verses, Jesus Himself speaks here of a spherical earth, where it is night time and dark in one place, while it is the daylight in another area on earth.

THE HISTORY OF FLAT EARTH BELIEF

The source of way too much of all of this flat earth belief actually comes from liberal, atheistic, evolutionary and critics of the Scriptures web sites

Very few people in history ever believed the earth was flat; fewer believers in both the old and new testaments. The history goes back even to Pythagoras, in the 6th century B.C. For sure, there were some pagans in the ancient world who held to the flat earth, but it was only a part of their pagan religion. Namely, it was the Egyptians, Babylonians, Hindus and early Grecians who held to this philosophy. They had no evidence, but that did not stop them and neither does it stop anyone today. In the modern world, The Flat Earth Society was once again revived in 2004 under the leadership of a man named Daniel Shenton, an evolutionist who also believes in "global warming".

IT LOOKS FLAT!

7,900 miles diameter, 3950 mile radius. Let's say you are eight feet tall. To that, it is a 41,712,000 feet across, and to your eight feet, so 41,712,000 ÷ 8, we get 5,214,000. Therefore, the ratio of the diameter of the earth to your height is 1:5,214,000 or around one to 5.2 million. Do you REALLY think you will see the curvature of the earth? In a plane even? It oughtta look flat at that size!

Let's do this with something small, even if we have to approximate a little. A mile has 63,660 inches. An ant an inch long is 1 : 63,660 inches. If you were the size of that ant, on a flat surface that big, would the earth have a curvature? How about if we slightly curved that mile like the earth, not even a small earth to scale, but rather just like the curvature of the earth.

So, over that 1 mile the drop is known to be 0.00013 miles = 0.67 feet. That is less than for the ant, but even more if you like, either way. That ant sees a flat surface no matter who you look at it, and you see one because you are so small compared to the earth. You are insignificant in size, negligible. That .67 (6.7 inches) feet to your one inch means something traveling away would slowly dip below the horizon, and yet the horizon would be as flat as a pancake to the naked ant eys

This has nothing to do with any truth, proof, evidence, or facts, but rather borne out of necessity, because the theory of a flat earth falls apart upon any surface or in-depth examination
ALL PHOTOS have to be adjusted by ANY photographer and it is very rare, always has been, to adjust photos in order to fix what the camera film or digital processor cannot do, as it is not a human eye. All photographers do this, including me, have always done it, with pictures of families, flowers, animals, scenery, sporting events, stills, famous people or anything else. Adjustments are nearly 100% of the time necessary and show no conspiracy, just people doing their job, and NASA or JPL would be no exceptions to that. If we as photographers were conspiring to deceive, we would never admit it
The U.S.A is in no way the only country that enters space and takes images, still or video, of the earth. Yet not one agency in any country has come out and said that they were deceiving people, apologized, and said that the earth was indeed flat.
If you look live at a N.A.S.A. satellite video feed, you can then look straight up at the clouds and see if the shapes and positions match, easily verifiable (or easily debunked if false)

How many millions of former Muslims in North Africa, Central and South Africa, Indonesia, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan Pakistan, the Middle East and elsewhere were unashamed to speak out and expose the lies of Islam to the point of having tires placed around their necks and lit on fire, their families beheaded in front of them, then they themselves killed, after knowingly violating the Sharia law in their country, being pursued, knowing full the openly public persecution to the point of death of others, church bulldozings, razings, etc. daily

This even includes some who worked for N.A.S.A, major airlines, other government agencies such as the air force, and on and on we go. That is just a conspiratorial fact and undeniable. That you can fact check all day long. To then know this and imply that this "flat earth nonsense" is a conspiracy, only not one pilot, astronaut, scientist or anyone else any place on earth has come out with video, photos, in this digital age, and write articles, books to rebut the globe earth is beyond ridiculous. It is a special kind of stupid. No one has lost their job, been kicked out of a classroom, died or lost family members, etc. trying to expose this "conspiracy of promoting a global, spherical earth", as is ALWAYS the case with a real one.

If these government workers thought that they had lost their job merely because they were a flat earth promoter, I guarantee you that it was simply because they are unqualified, incompetent as an objective, logical, rational thinking, sensate worker. I would applaud the firing.

So to conclude, the "lying spherical earthers" who have left their jobs, gotten saved (or not), are the single, only, solitary group of people worldwide in every civilized country that has a space program in large numbers, who collectively have steadfastly lived in fear and silence, refusing to speak out, because they might have their careers, lives, pensions, safety, health, families ruined if they spoke out, being absolutely a single, collective, solitary, only group of cowards on earth, bar none! In addition to this lunacy, one has to also believe that they conspired with every single manufacturer of any camera, telescope or sextant ever produced, to make distant objects appear below the horizon. Not one can produce an accurate set of lenses or measuring devices to show how flat the earth is, and this goes back to even early experiments before hight technology, even well before government space agencies worldwide, for thousands of years!

The Nonsense

Not one of these scientific and mathematical facts is merely "bad" for flat earth, but rather they are all completely fatal to it. It simply cannot survive the slightest scientific or historical scrutiny. These are just falsifiable, observable, repeatable, testable facts from science; no theories, no people hiding anything, no conspiracies by anyone. Verified in the lab, in the field, by lay people with camera, planes,compasses, measuring devices, and their own eyeballs. Anyone who wants to can test most of these facts for themselves. The whole flat earth tiny movement starts with a flat earth and ends with denying the verified, long-standing, centuries proven laws of Newtonian physics, all known laws of physics, dishonest editing and graphical production of fake videos, denial of the entire space program, denial of the entire makeup of space, denial of the laws of physics, denial of simple, basic geometry and trigonometry, and is a tremendous embarrassment to both science and Scripture. It was designed that way, to make Christians look like gullible fools. It is working as planned.

In fact, every view from above the earth from far away would be a circle, from 100% of the angles, no exceptions
The very notion that people who believed the Bible, as well as others, including scientists, believed in a flat earth throughout history, started in the 1800's originating from a crowd of friends and followers of Charles Darwin to ridicule Christians and the Scriptures is so ridiculous as to merit no response, if no one believed it.
God knows how to communicate and, as such, knows what word he wants to use to to that. Noah Webster was a Christian man who invented the dictionary, which includes the definition of the word "circle", as in Isaiah 40:22. One of the definitions of that word is "orb", which is a globe, a sphere and not a disk. The word "earth" is literally listed right next to it, giving more credence. This definition is rejected by flat earthers wholesale and without reason or evidence
Even the Hebrew word used in Isaiah 40:22, "khug", can mean either circle or sphere. Because the translators knew that they were interchangeable and, knew that the people in science and the church knew that the earth was round and not flat, they, guided by the Holy Spirit of God, chose to use "circle", which is not a problem for anyone except flat-earthers
The shadow on a lunar eclipse is round, not a line---------------, perfectly observed for thousands of years, physically impossible to explain
This is the case with absolutely every single lunar eclipse ever observed! This is impossible with a disk since the positions of each body involved in an eclipse is never the same, in fact in very different locations. The FEer claim for this is that the shadow is not caused by the earth in an eclipse. When asked what causes it, they do not know, and do not care. Some science, eh?
These are images taken by people from all over the world with their cameras of lunar eclipses. When the eclipse happens around midnight, the immense size of the earth versus the moon's much smaller size makes it appear as a vertical line as it passes by. This is because they think that the earth is flat and laying flat only, not upright, so they cannot, nor even attempt to explain the vertical shadow cast on the moon by the earth during a lunar eclipse.
When flat-earthers see the vertical line pass through the moon during an eclipse, they say, "The earth is flat, and on its side!", because they know that nothing would ever fall right off, because there is no gravity, only density! Yet these same people say that the earth being that a sphere cannot explain the waters of the earth and the people and anything not tied down falling off into oblivion because they are upside down below the equator, even though the force of gravity holds it all there.
The moon's phases are also proof of a global earth. At any given part of the moon’s cycle, all people on earth see the same phase, and the moon is almost always about the same size, with exceptions. This is impossible physically with a flat earth, because someone looking at the moon on one side would see a different view than someone looking at it from the other end of the earth.

Notice, on this moon set, that the sun is below, not behind, shining on it from below and lighting the bottom of it. This would be impossible if the earth were flat, as the light would be behind it.
The line that passes through the moon, at the edge of light and dark, called the terminator line, is curved, showing that the moon is a ball and not flat. So then, why would the moon be a ball and the earth flat?
Same thing with the sun If the sun were always orbiting above a flat earth, as per a recent flat earth scenario, then they would both change size drastically, and people in different areas would see different
If the moon and sun were close to earth, then people around the world would see different sizes at the same time. Never happens, nor has happened in history
Large frigates, ocean liners, aircraft carriers disappear over the horizon at 22 miles. Observed directly by sailors and beach-goers for thousands of years. the only exception is a temperature inversion (a mirage) which is not the ships at all.
A person who thinks that the earth is flat can simply do some of their own scientific research, as was down by the person who took the following two pictures. The first photo of the boat on the horizon is taken while seated/laying on the ground. The second one shows more of the boat by, done simply by standing up. This experiment works the best when the horizon and all land leading up to it are planar(flat), as on a large lake or at the sea shore.
The claim is made that Christopher Columbus thought that the earth was flat when he went on his voyage east to find Asia. This is blatantly false and stems from a lack of knowledge about history. Columbus merely miscalculated the size of the earth, never the shape of it! The mere fact that he ran into the West Indies is irrelevant, as well as the fact that he miscalculated the size of the earth, also irrelevant!
If you stand on the shore of the ocean , you can notice there are places along the shore that are not out of reach and invisible. That is, until you walk along the shore to the edge of what they could see and, as they walk, new things appear in front of them and things that were once visible behind them have now gone out of view. The simplest explanation is always logical and the best explanation. In this case it is the only explanation...that the earth is curved. The librarian at The Library at Alexandria, Egypt, Eratosthenes of Cyrene(275 BC-194 BC), a Greek and an Egyptian, sent a friend (ca. 250 B.C.) and coworker to a well in Cyrene, Egypt, today known as Aswan, known to have no shadow on the exact same time each year only, the summer solstice at noon, because the sun is directly overhead for that one moment each year, and no other time. This produced light straight down into the well. At the same time there was an obelisk in Alexandria which actually never did not cast a shadow, ever. A mocking, taunting, ridiculing tactic, used for decades, even centuries, goes something like this, "Yeah, we believe in a creator........and we believe in The Flying Spaghetti and a flat earth!"....who would want to be a part of that nonsense?
A person far north into the northern hemisphere can video conference a person in the far south of the southern hemisphere and compare star patterns. They will never match, because the earth is a globe and not flat.

There are human eyeballs all over this globe of ours, and the progress of the moon (and sun) represents a continuum.

If you go east continuously and do not stop in a straight line, you will end up at your starting point-this has been done numerous times in history, not possible on a flat earth
Anyone who has gone to the south or north pole with a compass knows that it stops working correctly, because the earth is a pole magnet. The flux lines go upward from the earth, straight, and the needle will try to follow that and point upwards as well.

THE FOUCAULT PENDULUM PROBLEM

A Foucault pendulum rotates in one direction at the geographic north pole, and in the opposite direction at the geographic south pole. Impossible with a flat earth

There are two waves created in earthquakes, ground and surface waves. The ground waves will always arrive much sooner than the surface ones, because they go through the earth, not over a round, longer distance. Both are recorded from great distances and can be used to show magnitudes of earthquakes. Proven every earthquake for decades. If it were flat, both would arrive at the same time. This information was known by seismologists long before NASA was even invented
There are also two different types of body waves in earthquakes, which even tell us about the earth’s interior, primary and pressure waves. The primary (p) waves arrive first and are pressure waves, longitudinal waves, basically sound. The secondary waves are shear or transverse waves. The p-waves can travel through both solids and liquids, but the s-waves can't go through liquid, as in the liquid core of the earth. Seismologists discovered that there was what they named a “shadow zone” for the s-waves—a place where we can’t detect any waves passing through from a seismometer over about 104° from the earthquake. They realized that deep inside the earth, there must be a liquid core about 2,890 km deep. And because the earth is a sphere, the core must also be a sphere of smaller radius (3,480 km) than the earth. This is all over the earth, allowing them to shape it using these waves. It is also a ball, a liquid ball-shaped core. So the earthquake "shadow zone" can’t be explained on a flat earth, nor can it even exist, even one with a deep liquid layer deep down. And this shadow zone exists at a certain surface distance from the earthquake (about 12,000 km or 7,200 miles) in all directions, no matter where the earthquake occurs. This means the earth has a uniform shape with no edges, i.e. a sphere, with a liquid sphere as a core. This is 100% fatal to flat earth ideas.
When you fly in a plane at 600 mph, the sun can be "caught up to, as in you can leave the dark and then see the sunrise as you catch up to it. The reverse is true with flying away from it-the fastest sunset you will ever experience on earth is currently in a commercial airliner
You can place sticks into the ground, the same height, a mile apart and measure the shadow angle. The farther away it is from the sun, the more angular it is, and you can photograph it. You can do this for all of the sticks and get a different angle for each one. Eratosthenes did this centuries ago, and it still holds, the flat earth would not produce these results.
If you take the glued on map off of a globe and try to flatten it to represent the earth, basic, simple logic and knowledge that ten year old would have of geometry dictates that it can never be the same. Don't believe me? Do the test for yourself. Wallpaper a wall and the wallpaper a beach ball. Doesn't work, does not come out the same, right? Just use a globe for the earth and a GPS to get to your destination. Problem solved

The disturbances in the atmosphere (heat aberrations)often makes the sun appear to shrink as it sets, but the shrinkage only appears to happen when it hits the disturbance, near the end of its setting, suddenly. It is not the sun getting farther away at all, because this also would happen EVERY TIME the sun set, and it does not when there is no atmospheric disturbance or aberrations from heat, etc.
The moon goes through phases of "apogee" and "perigee", where it is smaller and larger as it moves closer and further away from the earth, whereas the FEers think that this is impossible, because they are somehow glued into their imaginary "Pre-Flood firmament"
The atmospheric disturbances during the sunset also makes the sun appear to accelerate, which would obviously be seen by others further west, and reported. The sun does not suddenly "take off running", it is an eye illusion due to hear distortions. Water distorts sizes and positions as well as air, easily shown by a spoon in a half glass of water.
Water always goes via gravity towards the center of the earth, so the oceans are held there, and using a small bowl of water is not proper to even begin to demonstrate this at all. But, even in a small dish or on a flat counter top as a puddle, , the edges of the water curl downward towards the center of the earth ,like the oceans do.

Replacing gravity with density is no solution to anything, has nothing to do with the facts o science at all, and is yet another attempt to "deceive and be deceived". The claim is made that things drop because of density, not gravity. This reveals a complete lack of understand of both. Density is:

SIMPLE BASIC< UNANSWERABLE QUESTIONS FOR FEers

How would gravity work if the earth were flat and you did not deny that basic LAW of physics?
If it were flat, would we still have time zones?
If it were flat, would we still have seasons?
If it were flat, would we even still have the correct conditions for life on earth?

Gravity, or Gravitational Force, is the actual only force denied to exist by FEers (weird, hunh?), and is defined as:

A feather and a bowling ball, in a vacuum, will fall at the exact same fast rate of speed, because there is no air slowing down the feather. It drops 'like a rock", demonstrated so many times in history as to be laughable. So gravity is, and is not a theory, but a scientific fact. That rate is 9.8 meters per second, per second. If you reject this idea, did you or any other FEer you know, by name, visit the vacuum chamber, ask to remain inside while the air was pumped out to test gravity in a vacuum, and found that it was all a lie and that you were never in a vacuum, the feather and bowling ball falling at the same rate was a hoax? You or that person, by name, please! Who was it?
Galileo did this experiment, supposedly dropping two spheres of different masses from the leaning tower of Pisa and found that the heavier, more massive object fell at the same rate to the ground as the lighter, less massive one, and not faster. Today we can and have done this in a vacuum with a feather and a bowling ball, proving that the gravity acts in the same manner with the same force when wind resistance is removed, something from real F.O.R.T. science that FEers actually deny, will not do for themselves

The above calculation is per second, per second acceleration, not per second. If, as the flat earthers say, the earth is moving upward (not downward, like gravity) at the rate of 9.9 meters per second per second, in a year it would travel at the speed of light.

The claim that gravity is caused by electromagnetism is pure hogwash, because again objects in a vacuum would NOT fall at the same rate if they were different materials and densities. Another claim made is that, if airliners are flying the curvature of the earth, how come they just do not fly right out into space? Kind of a weird, silly, inane analogy, but that plane is held, like all of us, by gravity to its altitude, with engines, computers, ailerons, flaps, wings, etc. using Bernoulli's principle. It can certainly fall down if the engines fail!
One can make (and I have many times made) an electromagnet and test all of this for themselves easily enough.
Birds can fly, but once they stop flapping, they fall to earth. You cannot turn off the jets or propellers on planes and stay up forever, even with gliders. Enough said, "What goes up MUST come down"
The sun and moon travel in straight lines from east to west overhead, not in a circular pattern around us and away. Impossible if the earth was flat and the sun and moon traveled around a disk.
Airliners and all large planes, medium planes and any aircraft that travels a great distance travel in an arc to save fuel, something completely unnecessary if the earth was flat. What conspiracy is there in wasting fuel and money and profits for investors for ANY airline? The distance point A to point B would be a straight line, but it is not on a ball shaped object, the shortest distance is an arc, not a straight line, which is what they fly in
That arc is, from geometry, a straight line when seen from above, arched or not
Planes DO FLY OVER THE ANTARCTIC, it is just they need to be large with extra fuel to make that immense distance
"The Nile flows north, thus disproving gravity". Rivers can flow north or south, as long as there is a slope to the sea. North is not upward and south is not downward!
Seventy countries travel in space, and exploration is common. No indication of any faked "moon landings" from all of them. One would by now have come forward...even all of our enemies. One of those countries is North Korea, who has zero motive to back up the claims of the Americans and Europeans. The first image above shows the distance on a map between Olcott, NY and Toronto Canada, where the tower is on a map. The second is a photo including the base of a tower and surrounding buildings, clearly seen. The third photo is from Olcott NY, 39 miles away across Lake Ontario. This photo shows that it is impossible to see the base of the tower or even a short way up from that base, and any low buildings nearby, which would be visible if the earth were flat and there was no 22 mile curvature
You can do this experiment for yourself. Anyone can, and not just at these two locations. There are plenty of large bays around the U.S. and the world..
The size of the sun stays the same at sunrise, midday and sunset, because it is at a great distance from the earth.

The fact that we cannot see the curvature of the earth while on it, even looking into the distance, is because the earth is so large. If it were small enough to see that curvature, it would be so small that we could not live on it from every known law of physics, chemistry, biology, etc.
How does one get satellite TV if they are no that far up in space, but close to the earth like a plane, or do not exist and are fake?? Why would we even need satellites when tall towers would do across a flat earth?

THE CLAIMS: INANE AND REFUTED

CLAIM: The solar system in images is never to scale. No kidding! Fact, you cannot do it, because of the size of a piece of paper, or a computer screen, the ability of your eyes to see a tiny, invisible dot if you have the sun as a large ball. Not to mention the distance in miles. To expect anything else is foolish
CLAIM: The images they show you of the solar system are in CGI, so it is obvious that they are trying to deceive us. FACT: 100% of ALL IMAGES you see on a computer or the internet are CGI (computer generated imagery), because they are digital and have to be adjusted, no exceptions! This includes any type of subject in any type of photo. All of my photos have to be looked at and adjusted to make sure that the parts in the shadow which I was trying to capture were really captured. If not I have to brighten the image. Everyone who takes photos has to do this if they want to display the subject correctly, especially portrait people, wedding photographers, wildlife photographers, landscape photographers, still photographers, etc. Even when it was film and not digital all people had to do this in the dark room! It is the rare photo that I take that is not adjusted, meaning I got it perfectly. No deception, just necessary to show what I wanted to show. Also, converting to infrared does not change the actual image to something deceptive, but merely shows particular wavelengths of light, invisible to the naked eye. Same photo, just in infrared. None of the photos which are taken are generated; they are adjusted. In fact, the entire premise proves beyond doubt the globular earth, precisely because we must make composites of the earth to get an image of the globe. Because it is a BALL!
CLAIM: The hot spots we see in the sky from a plane proves that the sun is lower and closer to earth than we are told FACT: A simple understanding of light would instantly reveal the ridiculous nature of this claim. "Hot spots" do not just appear by something being close. There is such a thing as reflected light which hits any camera, including mine, and distance is irrelevant. So this is simply ignorance or a blatant lie. A simple course in physics, photography or anything in regards to the study of how light works would reveal this as false. Light bulbs and vision help in this correction to a closed mind
CLAIM: The sun coming through the clouds in rays which diverge proves that the sun is right above the clouds, by tracing the rays back using trigonometry!Wow, such ignorance. Even a simple experiment with holes in cardboard and a lamp above it would correct this sort of "thinking"..........simple, basic physics. The idea in the minds of flat earthers show there is a bias so strong, they forget, do not know, or do not want to know how to think. Your choice. Try a sunny day and trace those rays. If one thinks that the sun is right there in the distance 100 miles away, then call someone who lives there and ask them where the sun is, to see if the sun is directly overhead. It will never be. in fact, the exact opposite effect happens when the sun is over the horizon, and the rays point backward to? A DARK SPOT!. So this idea 'explains' one circumstance, not all.
CLAIM: the temperature of the earth is too perfect, to be 93,000,000 miles away. To date, no one has ever said the idea that a million miles closer and we would burn up, or a million miles away and we would freeze. They think the "zone" is about a few hundred miles, not a few MILLION miles (it is), and the earth moves in and out a lot in its orbit
CLAIM: The sun is an orange ball and on a black background, so that is all fake, because when you go outside and look at the sun in the day the sky is not black, but blue. Do some photography. Study meteorology. Better yet, make sure that you NEVER stare directly at the sun without a filter because, give it a few seconds, and you will see that your eyesight is RUINED, your retina destroyed. ALL photos of the sun must have a filter on it because of its brightness, so no, this is not proof at all that it is close, just proof that people taking pictures of the sun need filters for the intense brightness, and proof that flat earthers do not do direct observations from science or think objectively before spewing wild theories. The sky is blue for a reason, because all other wavelengths are reflected by our atmosphere.........EXCEPT BLUE! OR RED! OR ORANGE! OR YELLOW! This has been known for centuries and can be proven in any field study and also in the lab.
CLAIM: Flying high up at 38,000 feet, the sun appears under the clouds, showing it is close to the earth Again WOW. No, the sun is at sunset or sunrise, and would APPEAR to be under the clouds, but in reality is below the new horizon of those clouds above the earth by many thousands of feet, one is flying above, due to the rotation of the earth at sundown and sunrise placing it there, daily. Simple, honest observations correct this, which anyone can do.
CLAIM: OUTER SPACE DOES NOT EXIST AND IS FAKED!
CLAIM: Photos taken at two different times of the earth show two different sized Americas. Nice try again. Try a fish eye lens was used in one and not in another. I can do that with my camera
CLAIM:The practice for space travel in nose dives of aircraft means that space travel can be faked.. Except for a few little problems.

Nothing to "practice for" if they are not going to go into space
There is no proof of fake space travel, only claims, and claims are not evidence
When one actually is on space, they are actually falling to earth, at the same force that they are using centrifugal force to not fall to earth.
